What do you consider to be the key mid-season indicator for a Swans's flag in 2005?

Winning all of our games at home to the half way mark and losing away doesn't mean much. Have a look at 1997!! One of the most disappointing years!

1-4 on the ladder at round 11.

Win every game at home. Start thumping any team thats in the bottom 8... a couple of 100+ thrashings would be ideal.

Leo Barry has kicked double figures in goals by rnd 11.

We start getting 35,000 to games at the SCG and the ground becomes the House of [insert cliche here].

          Goodes clearly leading Brownlow favourites.

          And we have lift off...

Winning away. Teams that win away consistently, do well. (as well as being unbeatbale at home).

I think in 1996-97, the SCG became known as "the Fortress".

Kirk or Kennelly or Bolton(s) or Bevan or another young gun emerging as a Brownlow favourite would be a better indicator.

Please, please, please! I waited ten years for a win aganist the Eagles during the 90's there could only be one thing more satisfying for me than achieving this.

Didn't we beat the Eagles at Subi a couple of times in the late 90s? There was a game earlyish in the season in, I think 1999, where we beat them over there. Gehrig kicked 5, Lockett kicked more and Schwatta was on fire, IIRC.

                      good home form. Wins interstate. wins in the wet.....most importantly for me;
(all other things being equal), is some ruthless destruction of teams. preferably good ones of course, but i am sick of us going to sleep and winning by two or three goals when we could have won by six or seven....(see st.k rd 11 for example).

Quite correct 3 in a row, we didn't play them their in 99.

Here's a complete list of all Swans games against the Eagles in Perth. I think this game was actually at the WACA?

                          29-Apr-1990 R5 L Subiaco Sydney 10.7 67 West Coast 19.14 128

                          29-Mar-1997 R1 L Subiaco Sydney 5.7 37 West Coast 12.6 78

                          08-Apr-2001 R2 W Subiaco Sydney 15.14 104 West Coast 13.11 89
                          08-Jun-2002 R11 L Subiaco Sydney 13.11 89 West Coast 15.12 102
                          15-May-2004 R8 L Subiaco Sydney 15.7 97 West Coast 18.16 124
It also shows that we've only defeated the Eagles 4 times in Perth. I think the Eagles in Perth will be the real test of our prowess, given that the Eagles are the only side with a better recent record against Brisbane than the Swans.

The win in '98 showed just how valuable a class midfielder can be - Schwass was truly awesome that night. One of the best games I have seen a midfielder play.

Our midfield was great. What let us down was the lack of a half forward line on big grounds.
