I wonder if Gary Pert can commentate? He already works there (has done for years actually!).

Considering Triple M's listener base is driving around in V8's & Toranas in Western Sydney, yet the same demographic are League fans not footy people, it will be a VERY interesting move!

I can't see the north shore-ites switching from ABC Classical FM to Triple M. Hmmm ... A bit of AC/DC blasting out across St Ives, Randwick & Kirribilli during the half-time break? I think not! It could spell quite an interest-jump in footy ... And with so many night & Sunday games, they would be going head-to-head with 2GB's handball coverage. Only problem is that 2GB is competing against pay-tv, whereas Triple M is competing against live on 9/10 (away games especially!).

It is a weird one, but it will be excellent for AFL footy in the long one. I applaud MMM's decision and just hope that if ratings aren't brillianty at the beginning that they stick with us and the game. But I suppose it is cheap radio anyway, because they will very often be broadcasting matches from Sydney to their Melbourne-based listeners.

In Melbourne footy takes over from music on match days! To a Sydneysider this is just unfathomable! The best thing about radio coverage in Melbourne is that it is not hemmed in by Channel 9 to NOT broadcast matches that on on Friday night football. 2GB and Bolts Hadley are BARRED from commentating on any FNF NRL match. So the BEST match of the round does not get any promotion at all. (boofhead league administrators!)

I would dearly love for there to be SYDNEY-BASED AFL personalities. So that there are not only people giving a Sydney perspective on things, which will not go unastray to southern audiences. It would be great to have serious SYDNEY-BASED AFL personalties from our perspective as well. In the future it would be awesome to have a Sydney-based Fatty or Sam Newman. Time will tell on that score, hey!

I have just discovered Websteaming. I seriously recommend that Sydney people listen to Rex Hunt's call of a match once in their life. We have done it on the way home from games in Melbourne and it is a total classic!

My tip, listen to them via streaming on 3aw.com.au. SEN is also available on 3ak.com.au.
