    thewlis as a roo

i honestly think he could have a future as a decent player. in his game against collingwood his disposal was speedy, and apparently played well for (i think) bendigo.

hope the roos promote him, deserves it.
    thoughts?

You'd hope that all those here who were big advocates of him were missing something that the club saw as a potential career obstacle.

I'd hate for us to have missed a great player when there were so many raving about him.
In the end there's not much we can do now I guess....

I described him as being like Rohan-Warfe-like early last season. he was a good size, reasonable speed, good attack on the ball (I think his smother on debut at Olympic Park was a scrapbook moment) but even in the ACTFL his disposal was a worry.

That said perhaps he will emulate Fridge Roberts and end up playing in a kangaroo premiership team.

Interestiing in the swans magazine i received the other day, Roos did not mention/thank him as a deaprting player.

Maybe they were expecting to pick him up in the rookie draft but got gazumped. However, they could always had delisted another player instead of Thewlis if they weren't prepared to risk losing him.

Off field reasons were a major contribution to his delisting. They split McVeigh and him from living together as they were worried he'd be a bad influence. Here's hoping he sorts himself out. Good luck to him !

Was Thewlis the guy, this time last year, that they thought wasnt training hard enough or something like that, or was it Malceski (obviously before he did his knee). I think I remember something to that effect.

Thewlis was this guy. They didn't believe he was putting in 100% on the training track.

This probably has something to do with his delisting. Perhaps in similar vein to the delisting of Ricky Mott.
