A term used for a goal in Australian Rules Football.
Has been used for many years certainly dating to pre 1960's and still used by some Melbourne Football commentators.Comment

Yes I have heard the term 'kicking a major' (goal) as opposed to a 'minor score' (behind) used many times in the sport of Australian football, espec by AFL commentators."As a player he simply should not have been able to do the things he did.
