    Jolly good start!

For those of you who attended the trial game last night at Nth Sydney, I was wondering your views on the game by Darren Jolly.

Personally, I thought it was a great debut in the red and white. He looked impressively mobile around the game and could be an option both forward and back should the need arise. Another benefit of an impressive debut for Jolly, it should also make Doyle work even harder to maintain his spot. We have been lacking healthy competition in the ruck for sometime.

Also Spriggs had a good debut for the Swans as well.

    Your thoughts?
    Cheer, cheer!

He was interviewed on radio today and said he was happy with his form and that he's settling in well in Sydney after initially finding the traffic etc. hard being a Sydney boy. He was pleased with the form of the younger blokes especially Campbell, Grundy and Moore.

Jolly looked very mobile for his size. I read somewhere that Roos may even play him at FB or CHB.

He even crumbed a goal from outside 50 when the spoil came out to the front of the pack! He was in perfect position, picked it up, and slotted it through in one quick motion. Wow, a 200cm, 100+kg goalsneak who can play ruck, FF, FB or CHB.

I was very impressed with Jolly, agree that he seems to be extremely mobile for a man his size. Do you think we will see a side with Ball/Doyle/Jolly/Goodes/LRT? That's a whole lotta height for 5 dollars... Saddo wouldn't even get a look in for emergency ruck duties... you'd hope...
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

For a first up, hit out, playing with the up and coming = Yes I was happy. I also thought that his workrate around the field was very good. Some good grabs and seemed to be in the right place most of the time.

I also think Jolly was great the other night out there at North Sydney Oval.
Well done Craig Bolton for getting the co- captaincy in 2008.

Your determination, your tenacity and your under-rated skill is why you have become my favourite player!

As I wasnt at the game, it really pleases me to read this about Jolly. I just felt my first pang of excitement about the approaching season.

It will certainly be interesting to see how Roosy uses all the players you mentioned if playing in the same game. Aside from Goodes, the other 4/5 players would be rotated pretty heavily off the pine. Great flexibility for Roos but also a balancing act!

Last year I was watching a replay of Demons VS Swans on Fox Footy and Jolly was taking some bravo marks. He should be an asset.
