Crouchy has the Optus Report duties this year it seems, didn't have a lot to say about the game last week so he's got some interesting comments on the young fella :
"Well the least said about the weekend the better. We went to Perth to get the job down but unfortunately we let ourselves and our supporters down. We can't dwell on it too much. We will watch the video, learn from our mistakes and move on to the very important home game against the Adelaide Crows who after their surprise loss on the weekend will come out with all guns blazing.
I thought I would introduce or talk about our first gamer from last week. Adam Schneider played his first game for the club against Carlton. Adam grew up in country N.S.W in a little town called Osbourne. I think the whole town is based around the football club. The oval is positioned in the corner of a farm in fact I think it is a relation of Adam's. We actually go a long way back. I first meet Adam when he was about 11 years old. Adam and another young NSW boy Jeremy Rowe stayed at my place in Adelaide when I was about 16 or 17 finishing my final year of school before I was drafted to Sydney. Adam played for NSW in the Primary school state carnival. My brother represented SA and my local club The Norwood football club was responsible for billeting the NSW team so it was from this meeting that a friendship was formed.
Being drafted to the Swans meant that I was able to see a little bit of Adam's development as underage NSW state teams were always visiting us and we as players were always sharing a bit of advice for the youngsters. Adam went on to play for the senior Osbourne side as a fifteen year old and then the NSW Rams, where he was finally drafted by the Swans last year. After an injury interrupted year in his first year he was able to complete a solid preseason and is now beginning to enjoy the fruits of his hard work. His debut for the club was promising and we look forward to the little left footer working in front of big Barry Hall and kicking a few goals for the team.
For me it is very satisfying to see the young lad who stayed with my family all those years ago develop into a player who looks to have a big future for the swannies.
Before I go just a reminder that we play the Crows this week at the SCG and the boys would love another big crowd to help us get the right result this week. "
