Less inspiring . . . Grundy reminded me very much of Daniel Hunt.
At least Grundy got to contests and worked to get into space to receive a pass. I rarely saw Hunt manage that.
We need to give all these guys far more time before we pass judgement - and that includes Moore and Vogels as well as Campbell and Grundy.
The latter two have only been training with the squad since they resumed from the Christmas break. That is barely over a month. They've been thrown a guernsey in a team ostensibly a "senior team" against AFL players and haven't disgraced themselves. Give them time and we will get a better picture of what they are capable of.
What an outstanding prospect for our club as we are debating the merits of what looks like a fantastic crop of youngsters!
In my time here, I cannot remember so much enthusiasm over our rookie list. Hopefully they will continue to push for selection and the flow on effect of our fringe players trying even harder to maintain their spots. We haved lacked positional competition for many years.
I feel genuinely excited and optimistic about this crop of rookies and the positive effect that it will have on the rest of the club!
