    Where does Goodes Play?

I was trying to work out my best 22 for round 1 and was trying to place goodes in the team.

IMHO he wasnt effective at chb, sure he carried injuries, but it wasnt his spot. He is too good a player to waste in a position he doesnt play that well.

I personally like him on the ball, like when he rucked, but would have him in a ruck rover role

    what does everyone else think?

    Wherever he wants. (except ruck)
Let him just follow the ball all day, go where he wants but basically follow the play of the ball.
    lethal.

I want him in the middle of the park with a licence to roam. Doesn't have to play ruck, but just allow him the freedom to make an impact anywhere on the park. However I have no doubt Roos will play him at CHB to start the season and play LRT off the bench when LRT is the better fit at CHB.

Still lets wait until closer to the season and we see how Goodes plays in the practice matches and where.

hope he doesnt start the season at CHB, I think it stops him being the matchwinner he was in 2003.

I agree and most people on here will, but we don't really know Roos real reasons would be to play him there. I would guess fitness might be the issue and that being the case then its understandable.

A Chad Cornes role would probably suit him perfectly. CC ostensibly plays CHB but is very loose on his man. He gets away with it because the Port midfield is so solid and consistent and because Bishop and Wakelin are unheralded but effective.

We would need Schauble and Barry in good form, plus another tall defender to stand up, to enable Goodes to get away with this but if it could be manufactured it would give him the licence to make the play.
