Maxfield flies the flag for Swans

Maxfield flies the flag for Swans

Sydney captain Stuart Maxfield believes the Swans have "every chance" of winning the city's first AFL premiership. And he has three good reasons: the depth at the club; finals experience from the past two seasons; and that the core of the team is now in its third year with coach Paul Roos.
I worry, remember the last year when someone said they will win the flag, they struggle to get off the bottom.

But, is it the year of the Swan!!!! We hope so!!!!

"Every chance". That's nicely ambiguous isn't it?

I'm 100% certain that we have at least a 6 1/4 % chance of winning the premiership!

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

        I completely agree with Maxfield.

Injuries and freakishly strong clubs are our only obstacles.

So glad we are finally talking it up a bit.

Actions speak louder than words of course, but I was growing slightly tired of 3, 5 and 300 year plans. It's worth putting your hand up sometimes IMO.

I very rarely have "Good" feelings about a particular season but for some reason for the past 6 months I have felt positive that 05 could finally be our year...

and boy do we all deserve it!

I have had a good feeling about this year too. Lets hope we still have that feeling in a months time, and two months, and 3......

And in September, I always feel we are making up the numbers when we make the finals. Lets hope that we are serious contenders.

Absolutely Scott! That's the big if and fingers crossed we all have these 'positive vibes' half-way through the season!

You get the feeling a player like Jason Ball only stuck around for one more year, thinking that perhaps we are genuinely close.
