    Team for this week then.

    Players missing....Schauble, Crouch, O'Loughlin, Ablett

    Bevan - Vogels - Mathews

    C. Bolton - Roberts-T - Barry

    Kennelly - Williams - Goodes

    Buchanan - Hall - Maxfield

    O'Keefe - Doyle - Schneider

    Ball - J. Bolton - Kirk

    Bench: Jolly, Nicks, McVeigh, Spriggs

    James, Fosdike - Out.
    Spriggs, Jolly - Given a chance with the best team
    No mention of Saddo by Roosey so I presume he is not in the mix.

    Presumably there will be an extended bench with Dempster, Willoughby, Moore and Campbell on it.

    James would have to play considering its likely that Schauble will miss the start of the season. I would go with a team like this:

    B: Leo Barry Heath James C.Bolton
    HB: Tadhg Kennelly Lewis Roberts-Thomson Adam Goodes
    C: Jarrad McVeigh Paul Williams Stuart Maxfield
    HF: Ryan O'Keefe Barry Hall Adam Schneider
    F: Matthew Nicks Jason Ball Nick Davis
    R: Stephen Doyle Brett Kirk Jude Bolton
    Int From: Darren Jolly Luke Vogels Ben Mathews Paul Bevan David Spriggs Sean Dempster Josh Willoughby Nic Fosdike Amon Buchanan*

    *3 to drop out
    Once was, now elsewhere

      More important than results at this time of year is the fact that so far no Sydney players have been injured or reported in any of the trial games (am touching wood as I type).

        Yeah, you'd think that if NIck Davis isn't injured, he ought to be making an entrance about now.

        Roos has said on at least two occasions that Goodes will play CHB, so you'd think he'd need a run there pretty soon. Maybe LRT will get a run at FB?

          I dont actually think LRT will play at FB, but I think Roos still sees Goodes as the first choice CHB, at least until LRT really demands the spot or Goodes cant hold it down. Barry may get the FB spot like he did numerous times last year, with James to get a crack at it from the bench if he is fit to play.

          Schneider to get a spot in the pocket if he is fit, otherwise Buchanan.

          Ball is still our number one ruckman, and Doyle will get FF ahead of Jolly on form.

          That was hard work trying to leave some players out, and thats with Schauble, Crouch, O'Loughlin still to come in...

          look at our HF line! mmm...

            James is listed as hurt - and I feel he gets hurt a bit with twinges and finds it diffic ult to cope then. Schneider didn't take the field on Saturday - did a hammy I think before the game. Hall hurt an eye - but took the field - hope he can control the temper - I think he was well and truly aggravated by Brisbane defender - but still should of kept cool.
            Love those Swans

                  Bazza came off after a sliding marking attempt near the boundary....I couldn't see the result or any ensuing nasties because of the sightline at the worst football ground in Oz. He looked to have damaged an eye and received treatment on the bench. Definitely he wasn't happy with one of the Brizzie players...may have been Scott...when Bazza came back on he went straight up to him and knocked him to the ground....may have been a bit of acting, as the umps ignored it even though it was off the ball...But yes, Bazza, you should have cooled it....
                  "Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."

                    Difficult to know who is truly fit and who is fit enough to be given a run... Maybe Id go with something like this against the Crows...

                    F: Ball O'Keefe McVeigh
                    HF: Buchanan Hall Davis
                    C: Maxie Kirk Nicks
                    HB: B2 LRT Tadhg
                    B: Mathews Barry Bevan
                    R: Doyle Goodes B1
                    I: Schneider Jolly Spriggs James

                    Im taking it we won't have Crouch, Saddo, Magic, Ablett or Schaubs available...

                    What has been obviously MISSING in these past two games is the amount of work that Kirky and B1 do in bottling up the ball, denying it to the opposition if they cant get it. AND the run of Leo and Tadhg through half back... Lets get the backline settled in for the season, then we can concentrate on the forwards and actually scoring during each quarter.

                    I want to start the season off well with wins against the Hawks and Roos...I want our strongest team for the season start, so there's no place yet for any of the cygnets... Does anyone know who we play after Adelaide, or isn't it announced yet...
                    "Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."

                      [i]

                      I: Schneider Jolly Spriggs James
                      [/B]
                      Sneids =Injury prone hammies,
                      Spriggs= no passing skills,
                      Jolly =dud.
                      James = honest tryer, probably not able to overcome the effects of so many formative years on the injured list.

                      ------------------------------------------------------

                      Great bench that one, should really have the opposition trembelling in their boots.

                        this is such a waste of time (these matches i mean) who cares

                        why dont we abolish the whole wizrd cup and the pile of practice matches and play each other twice,a fair even comp.
                        Theres not much left to say
