If that happens, expect him to announce his retirement shortly after. There is no greater way to retire from the game than as the captain of a premiership side.

On Maxfield where do you guys think he will add the most value?

I have been thinking if LRT or Dempster play in the backline and Bevan lines up in a back pocket, I wouldnt mind seeing Stewie running off HB helping the young guys out.

As captain is it good for him and the team to be rotating off the bench in the midfield? what do you think?

      Cheers

half back is a good spot and i think half forward he would help keep the ball in the forward line.

He would also be used for bursts in the midfield when we are struggling

Am I the only one who thought Maxfield's 2004 season wasn't that great? He played well in patches, but though he struggled for much of the season. Still did the hard stuff, but thought he lost a bit of pace. Only averaged 14 disposals a game last year, I'd question whether that's good enough for a captain who plays in the midfield? Nevertheless, I hope he has a great season and can play on the year after. But I have my doubts.

Why not scroll back over threads in the last 3 months to find the number of times this discussion has already been had. The most recent one was about a month ago.

No suggesting that a definitive answer was agreed upon by the RWO grey matter but it is a subject that has probably been done to death.
