This is the worst pre-season I can remember for quite a while. Do the Swans know how to win? I am not feeling optimistic.

I caution reading much into these games, it's the form of individual players that matters. They're practice matches often the lower side wins

I think Bris were beaten by Richmond today. That said we need some key defenders out on the park

According to http://afl.com.au/default.asp?pg=new...ticleid=189850 Buchanan kicked 4. Or did they just lump his and Schneider's tally together?

Just got back from the game. Monty kicked four straight, including a couple of beauties, ND kicked 3.1 and looked good, Doyle 2.1 (the one was a bloody sitter) Bazza got 2. I had Monty as our best, he did a lot of terrific in and under work when on the ball, as well as the goals. Jolly was much better, his ruckwork was 100% on North Sydney. Goodes was very rusty, Leo had a shocker. Maxfield and Williams loked OK.

Heath came onto the bench after half time with his ankle strapped, but not hobbling too badly. ROK was one of our better players until he was hurt. He had just won a free kick with a great tackle but in the aftermath copped his injury. Coun't see what was wrong because the Scum's bench obscured things.

Thanks for the report Old Royboy, can you give us some idea how the defence went, with regards to matchups?

My call we lost this match because our defence was terrible. When Goodes played back he gave Tarrant far too much room, Leo had a shocker and gave away many free kicks. Will post more tomorrow - have to go out.

Yeah it looks our early season weakness, I was wondering if LRT played.

Any sense whether some of the younger guys look ready for the season ahead?

OH! I read the Swans site and thought that we won by 2 points. Who cares, it's only a prac match.

it counts for nothing in the long run....... i dont think winning every pre season game means a good season and losing every pre season games means a bad one.

It would of been nice to win, but it seems we are easing back in and almost winning, which to me is a positive. I hope the players havent decided to pack it in and decide they arent optimistic.!

Unconfirmed yet, but it may be a groin injury.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Frgging Prac Matches! All they do is give the players more chance for injury. I hope he plays Rd 1. Well, like, he has to!

If we don't have practice matches then they have more op for injuries when it really counts. Or we get run over.

Keep your fingers crossed that he's ok and it was only a niggle.
