The Swans make it so hard for themselves with one terrible quarter. We need Cressa back - we got slaughtered in centre clearences.

I thought Jude Bolton tried hard, Craig Bolton is a good honest performer and pretty safe with his work. Goodesy tried hard as always but there were some who were terrible - Saddo, Matthews, even Willo was average...

What's the point in playing the same players who have performed very average in previous seasons? We've got about 15 untried youngsters on the list.....how about giving them a go?
It seems like we're travelling down the path that Eade led us on last season in not trying out the youngsters. After all, that's where the future of the Swans is. GET THE YOUNGSTERS PLAYING OUT THERE!!! They need experience.

I don't think most of our team are really up to it, in terms of being a top side. There was one terrible quarter and two very ordinary ones, and only one good one. You don't win many games like that. Our midfield really struggles, hence we don't kick many goals and our backline is under constant pressure. Our midfield will possibly be worse next week, as I think Willo will miss a game with his corked thigh.

I dunno about not giving the youngsters a go.

Schneider has been given the ball this year and has run with it. Ablett was put in ahead of O'Keefe today when O'Loughlin pulled out.

Sunny, Powell and McVeigh have been emergencies this year, indicating that they are also relatively close to selection.

If Roos gives Ablett, Bucky, Sunny, Schneides, Powell, Hunt and LRT a go at some point this year, he'll have made the promised commitment to player development imo.

Firstly, Schneider's in the team because he's playing well, & he should have started on the ground instead of on the bench. Also I can't see that swapping O'Keefe for Ablett was a great move....it's just one youngster for another. O'Keefe is only 22....How about swapping Ablett for McPherson? As far as McPherson's concerned, I can't see the point in continuously playing someone who's slower, shorter, & older than the opposing players.

As far as Sunny. Powell & McVeigh, they can't get many possesions as emergencies.....

                  Have to agree with swans36,
It seems like the same old swans to me.
IMHO it does not appear Roos is playing the youngsters anymore than Eade did at the same time last year!
When fixter gets back he should replace mcpherson.
                  Powell to replace warfe
                  Keep Shnieder in
O'loughlin will have to come in, preferably for Matthews, and move Nixks back to cover Mattews.
Ablett and Sunny probably have to stay as emergencies for now, until they earn a spot ahead of someone else, unless anyone can think of someone they shold replace
Adam Goodes - The great red and white hope.

                    Ah....

I can probably agree that Warfe should be dropped. He's been very, very disappointing the last 3 weeks. But McPherson? Has been quite good the last two weeks. Give the guy a chance, he's done more than Willo has in the last two weeks. Should we drop him as well?

Powell for Warfe and LRT for Mathews or McPherson. We need some height down back which these 2 can give us. They will never learn if they don't get a go.

Sunny should get a run soon. Roos must drop an older player to warn others, maybe Willo (an example, not who I think we should drop) just as a warning that if your form isn't up to the level required you'll sit out until you can play.

Some seem to be resting easy when they shouldn't

I was at the Fremantle game last week and it was pretty
much the same stuff. Today I thought Mcpherson put up
and did set up one goal. IMO they have to have a look at
Warfe as he dosent do much and did cost a scoring
opportunity which ultimately resulted in a crow goal.

I have to harp on this one. Matty Nicks would have to be
the most unreliable set shot for goal within 30 metres I have
seen. On second thoughts Ricky Mott could be a challenger.

                          Charlie,

The problem with McPherson is that he has never been accountable, doesn't chase(can't cause he's slow), have you ever seen him manning up, goes to ground and sits on the footy(easy way out) , falls over and "refuses to win a hard footy". He gets on the end of a couple of handpasses, does a couple of his low shizen kicks to no-one and fans say he played a serviceable game. Sheez.

He's shouse, and should only be used for depth purposes until the end of the season.

Luke Ablett if you look closely has very clean hands and does have a dip. His problem is he has probably not played a full quarter of footy yet. No wonder supporters get frustrated with selection committees.

It's not just coaches who pick sides. Fair dinkum some our players must have "photos" or be going out with a selector's daughter to be still getting a game.

Robbie you may have hit the nail on the head. I have thought that under Eade changes were rarely made and players rarely dropped for 'shockers". As there is no pressure or perceived pressure from the bench, they think, "well I won't get dropped", and they start to believe in their own mediocrity.

The players feel far to secure with their spots. They know that they wont be dropped because it usually works on the system that the inexperienced are dropped for another or someone coming back. Watchinh the foxfooty teams show you never see ommitted next to a name unless it is a youngin eg. O'Keefe. What have him and Ablett done wrong.

They should rotate the midfield more often if they are going to last the game
                              - Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in a world they've been given, than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact, it's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration, it's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing!
