    New, few Qs

I am new. Having only followed the swans last year, being 'encouraged' by a few melbournite friends.
I was thinking if i am going to go to a number to the sydney games this year it is probably worth becoming a member? But is it too late to do that for this year? And seeing as i would be draging (major understatement) a few of my Sydney friends along to games i still want to be able to sit with them, so are there set seats non-members and members?
    Cheers in advance

I'm pretty sure you can get a season ticket which allows you access to the GA areas of the SCG or Telstra stadium. Then your friends can just buy a ticket at the gate on the day if not a sellout.

Either that, or you can buy additional reserved seats for friends via ticketek etc, but you're not guaranteed the seat you want if it belongs to a member or has already been sold, obviously.

Definitely worth becoming a member if you are going to go to more than half the games.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

      Never to late

You should still be able to join now as a member, and if you can make it to 6 of the games or so, then you break even. But the addiction will mean you just HAVE to go to more than that anyway...

just buy an extra membership, that way you encourage at least one other person to come with ya- might even get lucky if you choose the right freind. It's better sharing the footy anyway.

Get a public area/concourse membership. it gets you into the hill without a reserved seat. you can sit anywhere you like and have as many friends with you as you like. the exception to this is sitting in the semi-reserved area on the boundary where you have to get a maximum of four guest tickets.

it's the cheapest and most flexible option. you can sit on the boundary, behind the goals, undercover or up high (in the doug walters stand). your friends can just buy public area tickets and join you whenever they like.

you do have to look into the sun late in the afternoon a bit, but that's what your members cap is for.
then again, i think it would be worth trying 15-16 players on field so what would i know
