It seems like the Swans old players don't even have to try anymore they jusy wander out on the field knowing they're walk up starters every week and just amble round the field for a few quarters. There's no point in playing the same players week in and week out you have to play the youngsters (just look how well Schneider & Craig Bolton are playing) and I don't mean as emergencies or on the bench MAKE the older blokes force their way back in.This is the beginning of the season and Sydney have to show more agression, passion & pride wich is sadly lacking at the moment.
Tired old Swans

My sentiments entirely. The genuine effort by the middle level, who were touted as being ready to step up, offered our club bugger all today. Pity there isn't a mid season draft. -
Well I told you pre-season that the other coaches rated our list as the weakest in the competition. The only way we will be a threat in the future is to finish last and get some early draft picks. Our list doesn't include youngsters who will go on and win us games. It is unpalatable but true, we are a **** team going nowhere as usual.Comment

We aren't the worst and most coaches think we are a very dangerous side to play when we are on form. Our main problem is we are caryying too many players who don't put in every week. Player's like Mathews, Warfe, McPherson and J.Bolton get more chances than they desever. I would like to see Powell, LRT, Sundqvist, Ablett, Buchanan and Hunt given a go soon because they won't improve playing in Canberra. The time has come for this club to stand up to the "big names" and drop themOnce was, now elsewhereComment

Hold it there.
At the start of the season, many people grudgingly agreed that they would give the underperformers a chance this year to show their stuff. I know because I was one of them.
So far, the only player who hasn't been performing well enough in my opinion to deserve more chances is Rowan Warfe. I've seen Mathews and Bolton mentioned in this thread... well, Bolton was only one of the best on ground against Carlton for crying out loud!!!
Mathews has been consistent this year, hasn't set the world on fire but there have been worse. I think he could probably compare favourably to Jason Saddington so far.
Frosty has had 2 games so far, coming from an interrupted preseason. People are willing to let Jason Ball work himself into match fitness... why not Frosty?
If you aren't willing to give them a chance, say so. But don't say you will then jump on them just because they weren't in the best 3 or 4.We hate Anthony Rocca
We hate Shannon Grant too
We hate scumbag Gaspar
But Leo WE LOVE YOU!Comment

hey Chuckie I almost agree.
i reckon bennie and jude deserve more time and warfie maybe has been found out.
i get a bit tied of punters suggesting bringing in the un-tried...particularly LRT, when they are unknown.
having stated that, i don't understand why Ablet was included and hardly played. What is the point? Stevens much the same......and when they stuff up, in there ten minutes of fame ,we crap on them.
but, in fairness, we don't have much depth.Comment

Sorry Charlie, but Frosty has had 7 seasons to work himself into some sort of form.Comment

They are playing (today and last week) like they were under Eade towards the end of his tenure.
It seems the only time the boys play well is when the pressure is off. I.E end of the season when they don't have the pressure of finals, or in the 2nd half of matches, when other teams relax.
God I hope they can learn how to play 4 qtrs sometime in my life time.Comment
