Are Eastlake the easybeats of the ACT comp? I know its pre-season and we had many senior players playing but to score zilch is quite surprising and makes me wonder about the standard of the competition.

Luke Ablett was best on ground in the Eastlake game, kicking five goals, one from 75 metres on the run and four in the second half.

Christ! Get him in the team for Sunday, a couple of 75m goals on the SCG would be handy.

I believe that they are saving their good players for the real season to save them from inury in this Micky Mouse competition.

Eastlake finished in 5th position last year, just behind us

It's a real worry.
I don't think we ever should have left the VFL.

Plus the fact that it split up the players into two reserves teams because there was a limit on how many could play for Port any given week.

I don't think you can judge the quality of the comp based on Saturday's results. We'd be worried if it was stiff opposition for players like Davis and Goodes. But the reserves team got a decent workout most weeks last year and struggled against the top two teams.
