    Edwards and Bode all alone.

    Q. Why was it that these 2 blokes were on their own all game and no-one seemed to be bothered with them? They carved us up all game.

This was symptomatic of our game. When Adelaide was going forward our blokes either were too slow to realise it, started running in the opposite direction(it's called peeling off to pick up your man, or maybe lack of guts to make the chase), refused to cut across to put on pressure. Apart from Bolton who put his body in all the game, the rest of our onball runners(for want of a better name) did not want to be in it.

We have to accept that Willo will be tagged each week say when in hell are the rest of them going to step up to the next level. I doubt they will with any consistency. Some are well past their use by dates at our club.

Putting your body on the ball doesn't always mean a lot. He is meant to be one of our key midfielders, and for the second week in a row managed an inadequate number of possessions. Ah yes, and not to mention throwing himself on the ball and giving away free kicks for holding the ball.

I think it is easier to say that most of our midfielders were woeful and this is one of the critical problems with our team.

Just looked at the stats NMW and guess you were close to the mark. My judgement was probably clouded by the times he at least was our only bloke at the bottom of packs and having a go. The only times we got numbers together were when packs were formed and we swarmed from nowhere to add to the pack, and at the quarter breaks.

Also is there a chance one, just one of our forward flankers might read the footy dictionary and learn the meaning of the word, "crumbing'.

When the ball was kicked to BBBH at least 3-4 Adelaide players were at the fall of the ball to take it away with not a swan in sight. QED.

Do we have anyone prepared to run hard to a contest in the forward line, then if the opposition gets possession put some pressure on them. The defensive skills of our forwards and onballers is appalling.

The best thing you can say about JBolton is that if half our players had his endeavour, we'd be looking at a finals appearance this year!!

How much does that give you the @@@@s - in the back line and the forward line - all up, none down!! So simple!

Yep, they take it away from our forward line too easily.

What has frustrated me the most about Jude Bolton is his disposal. He gets the ball often enough, yet his kicks regularly drop 5-10 metres short of the intended target. He seems to be unable to kick further than 35 metres. This is an unacceptable upper limit for a player at this level.

So what does he do yesterday? Pops through a beautiful goal as easy as you like from outside 50 in the third quarter. Far and away the furthest I've ever seen him kick. Why is it that this doesn't happen more regularly? There is no doubting his courage, but if this were to happen more often he could be a star.
