We have an appalling record against Hawthorn dating back to the 60's.

Just one club no matter how good or bad they are who just seem to stumble on. Maybe it is the crap jumpers that put us off.

For many years I was convinced we were intimidated by their toughness.

Players for our blokes to keep an eye on must include the obvious ones of Everett, Crawford and Mitchell, who has embarrassed us before. I don't doubt we have the talent, but we really need to win this convincingly. I just hope they all turn up to play and not to have a training run.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Um, can't agree with Nathan Thompson being a Cat.

"Players to keep an eye on" is aimed at identifying a couple who may step up a level from their previous performances rather than the most dangerous / most likely matchwinners.

We had a purple patch against the Hawks from '96 to '01 when we won 8 of 10, but it's been 1 of 5 since then and it was 2 of 25 before then!!

Thought Mitchell was suspended for 1 week (i.e. off the field).

                  Nice preview!
Mitchell is suspended, and Thompson is a Roo. I never like the potential of everitt floating around in our 50. I hope we really give them a good thumping. Any ideas on the weather?

In the last 10 outings (5 at the SCG)

The win loss record is 5-5.

In the last 5 outings (only 2 @ the SCG)

The win loss record is 1-4.

At the SCG in the last 10 games

The win loss record is 4-1. (the Loss was a night game 2003)

The Home team has won 8 outta 10 times. (Thats gotta be a good stat)
