Meeting up pre or post game?

    Hi all,

I just flew back into Oz this morning from South America (since November). Can anyone tell me if anything is organised for catching up before or after the game? I see we now have the option of the post game function at the SCG or up at the Cross at the Social Club - and at the Fox and Hounds, too I suppose. Where are the bulk of RWO thinking of heading?

And the Swannies better win on Sunday. Though the fact every "expert" tips us scares me. The Hawks always seem to pull something out of the box when they play us. Remember the 2003 game after the Team of the Century dinner . . .

But to be back for this game required some effort on my part so I hope they come through. Three days ago I had finished my Antarctic season and went sailing with some mates around Cape Horn. To catch my flight home I had to hitch hike on a French yacht to a Chilean town called Puerto Williams, sponge a lift with an immigration officer to a dock 50km away where a speedboat carried me to Ushuaia in Argentina for a mere $US300. Then I flew from Ushuaia to Buenos Aires yesterday and then to Santiago and on to Auckland to get in this morning. So I'm not prepared to accept any excuses about Crawford or Everett being on song. I want a decisive victory on Sunday.

    Go Swannies!

GO SWANNIES, you deserve 10 out of 10 for effort! Let's hope it all pays off for you. I do worry about the Hawks however, they have a good SCG record, having won 11 out of 20 - 55% (see link). Ours is 53.29% (137 out of 258) although that reflects the stronger Hawk teams of previous years. Let's hope the only people on song are the supporters singing "Cheer cheer the red and the white......"

I don't know but did you have fun?
Vicky Pollard: Oh my god I so can't believe you just said that this is like the time I threw Anita's nokia in the canal as a joke and she's like you have well got to buy me another one and I'm like get over it and then Paul came over who's adopted anyway and started saying that I fancy Mark Bennett but oh my god just because I have sex with someone doesn't mean I fancy them.

Yep, lots of fun. I did five voyages to Antarctica and that was fun too but also I was working. However, I've become friends with the couple who own the "Spirit of Sydney" and so, when the Antarctic season was over we just filled it with beer and went for a sail. I guess anyone who spends time at sea has Cape Horn as their goal - it's really the premiership equivalent for sailors. Rounding it in a 65 ft ocean racer in a 45 knot gale was a blast. Too bad about my camera, though - salt water is always terminal.

Then the next day was really calm so we landed at Cape Horn and I had a chance to climb up and see the memorial to the hundreds of sailors who have lost their lives there - many of then bringing supplies to the early colony of Australia. Because the winds are so prevailing westerlies it's not unknown for a ship to spend up to three months just trying to cover the 100 km or so it takes to round the Horn. Puts the Swans' quest for a premiership in perspective I guess - that's taken longer but isn't a matter of life or death.

Bon Bon and I expect to arrive at the Fox Complex by about 10.30, hang out there for a while before the game, then after the game we'll be heading up to the Noble then somewhere to eat before we join Robbie for an 8.15 flight south.
