My thoughts going in were for about 22/23k but then looking at the ground, I was thinking 28. Was very impressed with the crowd size, although it was a fairly subdued crowd for most of the day.
I'm on the Chandwagon!!!
If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

I wish. There was way too many people trying to swim and the surf was huge. We had about a dozen rescues. I will now sit down and hopefully watch the video of a thrashing by the swans.

I'll be there with 2 others who have never been to a live game, so hopefully we'll see some exciting footy from the Swans and they'll become members after this!
Do they have funerals on Sunday in Sydney?
Weddings are way down the priority order, just ask Nick Stevens.
Work Commitments - work the roster better unless of course you are a person of the cloth. That would be hard to get out of but then again have an early service.

I don't eat animals since discovering this ability. I used to. But one day the lamb I was eating came through to me and ever since then I haven't been able to eat meat.
Regarding reasons why more people dont attend Swans home games, the most significant reason and one that I didnt mention in an earlier posting, is that all Swans games are broadcast LIVE in Sydney, including home games. This obviously affects home game attendance figures. I 'm not sure about Brisbane but I know that no Melb, Adelaide or Perth games are broadcast live.
I'd rather they broadcast the Swans' Sydney games on a 30-60min delay to try increase crowd attendances.

I agree that live TV probably does affect crowd size. With Ch 9 covering the game and also covering the league, a transmission delay is going to upset their scheduling, which is why Swans' Sunday games start so early anyway.

Was it ever?! Up the back I tried getting a chant going. People kind of just stared. They cheered loudly after goals we scored but that was just about it. Even Simon from Tassie coming up the back didn't help much. Benny_w was doing his best down in the squad, but I swear nobody bothers joining in up there. It is not even worth trying to get them going at all. The people up there are all regulars, and incredibly are about 80% women.
i tried to get everyone back into the game by taking the drum into the O'Reilly in the last quarter. All I got were pensioners muttering and giving me the look of somebody who had been woken up from a lovely dream-a mixture of annoyance and that of a startled rabbit.
I'll give that more of a go when we get a closer game. At one-sided matches Sydney people tend to get really bored really quickly. And kind of just start talking with themselves.
27000 was definitely around the money. There were lots of empty seats in Bays1-3 as well as in the top outer corners of the upstairs section of the O'Reilly Stand.

Just in regards to the lack of cheering after goals in the bay 33 area. Peter tries to rev up the crowd but half just sit on their hands and look like stunned mullets. Maybe a few cattle prods may be in order to stir this crowd up. Also a bit of throat lubrication will come in handy. Or even a leaflet on how to not be embarassed about cheering for your home side.
