Changing memberships mid-season

Hi gang,
Just wanted to ask everyone whether it is possible to change one's membership after one game.

I think it is time I just became a normal supporter again. and just turned up to the games on my own steam. Not having to worry about anything apart from what bus I catch home.

Full credit to everyone who wants to keep making banners and waving giant flags. I just think it is time I moved on and just worried about watching a game of footy for a while.

Am kinda curious about checking out a match from the O'Reilly wing concourse. Is the view good from there? Is the atmosphere half-decent there?

The view up in the O'Reilly grandstand is just awesome. Might consider going up there. And maybe even annoy everyone with the drum to get them going.

I just reckon it is time to move on.

Well it seems that there is indeed something amiss within the CS. All the best JF: the view from the wing is way better and I'm sure you'll find some rowdy types full of voice.

The view is awesome, unless you have bad eye sight and have to squint 75% of the time @ everything. Bring binoculars! Bang the drum, don't wave the flag because the roof is just not high enough for that.

We should have a group of people sitting in one area with drums! Then we could make HEAPS of noise - or is that not allowed?

1 drum isn't allowed as it is (what I heard).

Yeah, I swear I gave a couple of them near heart failure when I started things up. They were muttering over their thermos and giving me evil looks.

The front of the O'Reilly Stand would be just unreal I reckon. I could wave my flag over the edge, then get everyone going with the drum.

Does anyone remember the old days when we had guys with whistles starting the chants up there? They would just get on the seats and blew their whistles !!! so that everyone joined in the "Syd-ney" bit. EVERYONE would join in. Sounded great on the TV.

The SCG is awesome when that stand really gets going. As much as even Peter Hatley tries to fire them up in the Brewongle, it is the O'eilly stand who really determine the atmosphere at the SCG. We only need hark back to the Eagles match in the rain in 1996 to see how amazing it sounds when the "syyyyyyyydnnnnney" chant gets going.

Well at least not in Melbourne Bonbon. It contravenes Cheer Squad code 24A-sub section B Paragraph iii that thall shalt not use a musical instrument in a Cheer Squad.

Still got it into Carlton last year though.

Surprisingly neither the SCG Trust nor Stadium Australia have any issues with it these days. Things are heaps more relaxed since the old SCG Security head has retired and sent off to a nice paddock to eat grass somewhere.

JF, I'm a fan of the O'Reilly, as you know (having been an O'RS native for the last 6 years). The view is great, and because the concourse is not as deep as the other side, you are a lot closer to the action than an equivalent seat in the Brewongle.

There might be problems getting a reserved seat up there after the season starts though, as I am pretty sure there is a cutoff date after which they release any leftover seats to Ticketek for general sale.

If you're serious about considering a move to the wing, then I reckon give the club a call ASAP.

I actually am quite serious about looking into it. But will see how things pan out over the next couple of weeks.

How much does an O'Reilly Grand Stand membership cost? Where do they plonk you at Homebush?

JF, I know you always loved sitting behind the goals. Here's the case for the Noble Stand.

1. You ARE behind the goals.
2. With the elevated view it is just so much better,and for some reason the front row of the stand is always the last to fill.
3. It badly needs some-one like you to pump them up.
4. It costs the same as a concourse seat & much cheaper than O'Reilly or Brewongle or Bradman.
5. You are right there for the aftermatch.
6. Because the seating is all unreserved, if you feel like being right behind the goals, just stroll down. I would give heaps to see you bang that drum in the senior citizens lugholes down there.

I'm sure they will still sell you a membership but whether they'll give you a credit on the "upgrade" of your current membership I don't know.

Des, I reckon your wrong about the Brewongle. I'm closer to the action than you and at about the same height. And I don't have the sun in my eyes or the players faces in shadow.
