I just had a look at the stats and saw that Goodes had the 3rd most possessions, the same as the 2 Boltons and the second most marks. What did you guys think of his game?

He was given a very inexperienced opponent in Franklin (sic) and I thought that was a masterstroke from Roosy.
Goodesy is an attacking backman and that gives him the chance to do what he does best.
I thought our backline matched up really well on theirs, conversely, the Hawks looked out of sorts against ours. Croady never switched on, Hay should have been on Baz all day and Joel Smith should have been on Nick Davis. They were a couple of key backmen short I thought.
Here's hoping the rest of the comp are a few "backmen short"!The Pain of Discipline is Nothing Like The Pain of DisappointmentComment

He played fine but was hardly a dominant force. If he is going to play at CHB we really need him to be setting up play the way that Cornes does for Port if we are to get the most out of him.
Having said that, the ball wasn't in the Hawks forward line very often and even when it was it was cleared relatively easily by the defence as a whole, so maybe it wasn't a good game to judge his potential down there. Also, he's still short of match conditioning.
Was certainly good to see him move comfortably and look confident.Comment

Goodes was caught out a couple of times, but it was a huge improvement. Holland had caused LRT some problems and Adam settled him while providing good drive.Comment

Good point! I think having LRT gives us much better flexibility in the backs. It will be an even better when Schauble is back and LRT has more games under his belt.Originally posted by TheHood

Absolutely - He didn't have a blinder but he didn't make any really stupid mistakes either (Which is good enough for a backman). He needs the game experience and hopefully he will be more dominant come finals time...Originally posted by Sanecow
Did LRT do enough to guarantee a game in the Seniors next week?
I think his main problem is getting beat on good leads from his opponent. Hopefully he is doing work on getting that quick burst of speed.Comment
