"The Swans interest is in winning and presumably that's going to be enough to satisfy most fans."

    Apparently not, it would appear.

I was frustrated by it. I wanted to see some creativity... I guess in this case they were too well drilled.
      We hate Anthony Rocca
      We hate Shannon Grant too
      We hate scumbag Gaspar
      But Leo WE LOVE YOU!

I would have cheered. It annoys me when the opposition does it, so I was happy we finally were in the position to put the old chip-around into action.

A pretty ordinary excuse. Surely they can do some work to find some players free a little closer to goal rather than going backwards.
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

Snagged this from the Hawks fansite:

" . . . . a special mention to the tiresome efforts of the Sydney-supporting crowd. They are footy fans of the highest order, and certainly add an extra 4 or 5 goals to the Swans total each week.
SCG = Modern-day House of Pain."
            An interesting contrast

Amon Buchanan was interviewed on 2KY and seemed rather embarassed about as he said he started it by kicking backwards. He said they were running down the clock and no mention was made of the small forward line.I didn't like it but I never boo our team even in jest.

I wasn't overly impressed with the booing. Enough folks have already pointed out on here that they were well ahead and the entire Hawthorn team was pretty much in the Swans forward 50. It was a pretty long quarter as well, they would have been fair enough to think when they started to chip about that the siren should be going any second.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

If anything should be booed it's the fans in red and white streaming from the ground for a quick getaway half way through the last quarter.

The booing was a disgrace. If anything it should of been the Hawks fans booing their team for not attacking the ball anymore and just sitting back in defence - that is the poor form - not what Sydney did in response.

I had to bug out a few minutes early...I was under pressure by She Who Must Be Obeyed (herein referred to as SWMBO) to attend a family Easter BBQ, of which we missed most of....

In any case, I missed all the fuss. Let's face it, any crowd is governed by mob rule. There's no logic, very little thought and lots of raw emotion. That's one of the reasons we like going to see a game live.

I think Goodes was right and I wouldn't read too much into it.

Even still, I thought the booing was average.

What about the heat? Anyone who has ever played in a game of footy or similar under those type of conditions will appreciate how and why the Swans controlled the game the way they did on this occassion.

Sure, I like being entertained when I go to see the games. However, I'm most happy and entertained when the Swans win, and win in a way that sets them up for the following week (few injuries, not too fatigued or bruised, confidence high etc.)
"History is what it is. I mean, you only look back on it. If you don't create it, well what's the point of looking back on it?"

First time I have ever seen a team booed by their supporters
for winning. Its going to be crook if they ever lose.

They won, they played their hearts out and I got value for
                          my money on the day.

What else can you ask for ?
