Originally posted by BonBon The only reason they deserve to get booed is if they waste time for playing kick to kick on the field. To be realistic, we only play 3qtrs of a game. Never a full game because last qtr is just slacking off majorly.
As I have said elsewhere I think the "booing" was very much tongue in cheek. Having said that, it sends a clear message to the players and more importantly to Paul Roos, that over-defensive tactics with the team we now boast WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.
Why? Because we deserve more and the team deserves more... because we have faith the team can really do it, be it this year or next. In truth therefore, the booing was more out of support than annoyance; out of faith, and frustration that the players did not seem to share it.
Look I'm all for locking down a game when you have Brisbane at a nine-point margin with 2min to go, but regardless of the situation we should show our flair when we have Hawthorn by 63 already.
And I didn't boo either... but I did laugh and clap Spider when he intercepted
Oh, cut the crap everyone. they deserve to be bood because there was no reason to slow down the game. This is just stupied. They were very much ahead and there was no reason fore doing it. If the instructions for slowing down the game came from the coaching box, Roos should be ashamed of it, whatever the reasons were. As a paying Swan supporter a have perfect right to say that, regardless what some PC jerks on this forum migh say.
Well, that was my 2 cents for it...

Better for them to be leaving while they are winning. Much worse when "fans" leave when their team is losing.
i'm not into booing, but i don't like to see the swans taking it easy in the fourth quarter for any reason. if, for example, we murder the roos this week and have a nice cruisy fourth quarter, it might just start to feel familiar and heaven has no idea what the lions will do to us if we go in with a little complacency.
i understand the argument of avoiding injury, but at this stage of the season i think roos should be pushing our players into real match fitness and see who (especially of the young guys) will keep up the intensity the whole match even when it isn't strictly needed.
more percentage is always nice too.
then again, i think it would be worth trying 15-16 players on field so what would i know
FFS the Swans kicked 6.2 in the last qtr. They played keepings off for about a minute and a half, and the end of a long qtr, on a hot day, when they were more than double the opposition's score. Some people here have some pretty unrealistic expectations. I'm anxiously awaiting our first loss now so some idiot can blame it on 90 seconds of sideways kicking.
Those Sydney crowds are just so ignorant. Booing just because a good game finished as an anticlimax.
But what can you expect? As the SMH reports today: 'Admittedly, even coach Paul Roos said: "We were in the [coach's] box and I was probably booing them, too. But, look, that was the smart footy decision."'
Even the coach is an AFL ignoramus. But the winebars nearby are nice, I hear.

Why? What's the point in waiting until the final siren when you are miles behind?
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.
"[T]here are things that matter more and he's reading and thinking about them: heaven, reincarnation. Life and death are the only things that are truly a matter of life and death. Not football."

thought he did a good move there to start the game again i have seen him wait for alittle while in a game where a bunch of our guys are trying to get the ball out from a bunch of opps players in a pack and he can't wait any longer goes in and gets it him self and off it goes again , great player that i reckon but i am bias aren't i .
It's only OK if it was the Hawks fans leaving I reckon.
I was puzzled how Melbourne got 2nd on the ladder when they only won by 40pts. Did they score over 100? Some other team won by just under 60pts and they had a really low percentage.
Vicky Pollard: Oh my god I so can't believe you just said that this is like the time I threw Anita's nokia in the canal as a joke and she's like you have well got to buy me another one and I'm like get over it and then Paul came over who's adopted anyway and started saying that I fancy Mark Bennett but oh my god just because I have sex with someone doesn't mean I fancy them.
