    The Cygnets

Basically the reserves carved up poor Anslie (by about 20 goals), however there were some points of interest.

The midfield of Ablett, Fosdike, Spriggs, Moore, Schmidt, Willoughby was always going to outclass their apponents (hardly surprising) and they did, especially Ablett . . . .
But it was very interesting to see the intensity displayed by Nic Fosdike, he clearly wants back into the seniors. Also interesting was the continued excellent for of Jared Moore.

Nick Malceski was extremely busy and seems to have recovered well.
Dempster still looks ready for the seniors (has done for a year now).

Ed Clarke spent most of the day in the back pocket and it looked to me like it must have been a novel experience (played very loose).

The key position trio of Campbell, Vogels & Powell all did well (although the latter occasionally looked bored).

So too did Jason Saddington, who stood out as you'd expect in the unfamiliary surrounds of the ACTFL.

As to the ruckman, Earl Shaw is really good, his taps usually going to a Swan. Erikson also took a turn in the ruck. The huge number of healthy Swans ensured that the resting ruckmen sat on the bech instead of the forward line.

I like the sound of this, especially Ablett, Fosdike and Moore. The midfield is starting to look as if it might match up with the front and back six.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)
