We have a genuine problem at centre bounces and aprticularly with stoppages in the back half. Only 1 player, Jude Bolton, has at the moment the courage to go straight at the footy.

Get into the back half and have a real close look at how few times the likes of Barry, Mathews, Crouch, Warfe, Kenneally and McPherson put their bodies in at bounces. They take the easy way out and supposedly peel off to cover their man. Lack of courage for mine.

When in the hell are these blokes going to realise that footy is all about getting the footy. Besides, these blokes have NFI where there man is when they peel off anyway.

The top sides year in year out are the most courageous teams.

From 2000-2002 it was generally held by opposition coaches that we were by far the softest side in the comp. Have a guess what, the same imposters are still running around, and nothing has changed.

I'd like to know where you got this from.
I know for a fact there were a few instances of teams getting thought of as soft which were made public, but it never involved the swans.
FWIW I do think sydney are close to the softest side in the comp

Re comment by Brereton on Swans clearances , our former coach 'Rocket' said exactly the same thing on ABC News Radio commentary during game. Obviously great minds think alike!

I'd have to agree that we lack mongrel in every corner of the park with the notable exceptions of BBB and the "Skillfully Challenged" J. Bolton.

All out backmen seem like such nice boys....come to think of it, they are nice boys! Damn!

This begs the question....do we have football brains?
Why do three swans contest a pack marking contest, preventing an opposition mark perhaps, but bringing the ball on the ground with no swan on his feet and able to recover...
Where are our rovers at times like this...maybe modern football calls them onballers...but rovers/onballers (a la brent harvey, peter bell, mcleod, kingie) seem to be able to crumb well.
"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."
