It has to have a place and time. On a small oval like Manuka, why would you bother? Why can't we back our backs to take care of the opposition forwards. The Roos have an average forward line at best.
How many times today did you see the Swans move the ball quickly forward, only to find Barry Hall contesting against 3-4 Roos backmen, with not a single Swans small forward in sight? Or how many times did the ball go straight to Archer?
On a big ground this ploy might be useful, but on a small ground I reckon we have the players to be able to conteat one on one. Paul Roos has a lot to answer for this loss.
