    Heads Must Roll

In two weeks time after we play Melbourne and the Hawks (they are the next two arent they?) if key players and mid level players dont lift dramatically then there must be extreme changes. In any other sport or team if players are not performing to what they should be then they are finding themselves in the reserves the following week. Too many players seem to be getting a free ride week in week out. There is no pressure on their position in the team. There are younger blokes deserving a run in the seniors but are only gettin 35 mins and then dropped when another player under the same circumstances is being promoted and it continues

If you dont perform, regardless of name/reputation/talent, then your spot is in danger

    - Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in a world they've been given, than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact, it's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration, it's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing!

So.... you'd dump players like Mark Powell, Lewis Roberts-Thompson and Jarrad Sundqvist at the mercy of Collingwood and Brisbane in their first couple of games?

That'd work. If you want to kill their confidence.

Yoof policy indeed! There were loads of people on this board last year spouting off about giving the youngsters a chance and getting rid of cressa, ball, frosty and others (presumably as well as dunks, kell, schwatta and plugger). Well heres our chance...drop the underachievers and fill the team with the youngsters and give them a chance...let's see what happens. There'll be people on the board that evening demanding their scalps...LOL
"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."

personally, i wouldnt mind losing and see the youngsters have a good crack at it for 4 quarters rather than see the seniors play for a quarter and a half and lose!

We have a very young bunch of players on the pitch at the moment and I think the lack of experience showed on Sunday

I think the first head to roll ought to be our doctor, Nathan Gibb or something like that. He has shown nothing but complete incompetence in getting players back on the park.

The jury is still out on Ricky Barham, and is Brett Allison still our skills coach?

Do we have a skills coach? Seriously.

And if we do, call me an idiot for stating the obvious, but shouldn't that be an ex player who a) had skills and b) has developed a system for passing them on?

                Allison? That's a joke, right?

A players recovery from injury has nothing to do with the treatment he is given by the team doctor, nathan gibbs. Everybody recovers from injuries at different rates.
A doctor can only do so much towards recovery, it is mainly upto the player to look after the injury to the best of his ability, once having been seen by Nathan Gibbs and the team physios.

I also think that the younger players need to be given their chances to proove what they can do. If they play well and we win, that is a bonus. But having said that we really need the experienced players to stand up and be counted.

It is certainly up to Gibbs to at least diagnose the problem correctly ie Stafford's problems in 2001.

And if the youngsters should be given a go, who should they replace? Surely not the quay to our defence?

Did someone mention Physios, the soft ***** of the medical fraternity.

Do Physios ever fix the bad backs that beset players. As far as I know only 1 club, the Bulldogs have a Chiropractor. Get a decent Chiro and clubs just might have some chance with Hammies, back related hammies and general lower back problems.

But because Physios are the flavour at the moment they are seen as the be all and end all, and decent chiros get locked out of the scene, through petty jealousies between practitioners.

I agree a doctor can only diognose a problem not fix it, unless of they prescribe streoids to speed up recovery, ala Shane Warne.
An across the board medical team is the only way to cover all bases.

I reckon I have hit on the reason why we are struggling to put together 4 hard quarters. Yoga.

Yep, this Yoga has made their brains soft and turned them into mung bean eating pacifists.

They have clearly lost their mongrel. Send them to Kung Fu or some other mind toughening martial arts program, to purge themselves of this scourge to the football world - Yoga.

They must be turned into ruthless Iga Ningas to get back that winning feeling.

I think that they really haven't taken this 'youth policy' far enough.
I say play the little league.
OK, it will be a weakened side because girls aren't allowed to play, but let's look to the future, people.
