He is learning. Slowly, but at least he is learning. Practice makes perfect. With a bit of luck all his kicks might go to the opposition. Not far to go.

He can't bleedin' well kick. Simple as that.

You know kicking is the basic skill in this game we call "football".

Read somewhere this week where it was quoted that some luminary said clubs are now waking up to the fact that they must recruit players who can, listen for it, "KICK".

Gee they must have started to employ rocket scientists at footy clubs. No normal person could have thought of that.

In the past it was said, at draft camps clubs had concentrated on things such as the "beep test" and "vertical Leap".

Didn't McVeigh kill the beep test at the draft camp? And we have Spriggs and Fosdike who are also enduro beep-test gurus. Who needs players who can KICK when we've got guys who can run and handball all day?

            Depends who they handball to!!

IMHO, I thought McV looked pretty good on Sat. He had a hand (or boot) in few of our goals (not that there were too many to remember).

I agree with McVeigh, although Im not yet completely convinced he will be the STAR midfielder we need. I just want to see him play for an extended period but he keeps getting dragged off in the midfield rotations. Its quite annoying since everyone knows he can bloody well run all day.

Yeah, I'm surprised that McVeigh would be copping criticism so soon? He is a natural athlete who kicks very accurately

One valid criticism is that he needs to go to the barber with Nicks and Hall rather than Fosdike.

After tonight, I shall never criticise Jude's disposal again....

what a bloody legend...... wheres the apology thread?? :P

some peoples critisicism has been well warranted, but i thought theres a few people here who went overboard, basically saying he cant play at all and he made them eat a massive serving of humble pie tonight

He played a decent game, but didn't star. He was amongst a number of players who lifted their work rate in the last qtr, which made a difference. He made a couple of very good disposals in the last qtr, but still sprinkled some ordinary ones in there too. He was reasonable and that's pretty much as good as he gets.
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

"[T]here are things that matter more and he's reading and thinking about them: heaven, reincarnation. Life and death are the only things that are truly a matter of life and death. Not football."

In my books he's still a hack. It will take more than this game to prove otherwise.

I love how one lucky quarter after 3 of the most insipid quarters ever played brings out all "J.Bolton for President" bandwagoners.
                                Bolton still = crap
