It may be ugly but it is the only way we will be able to go with the Lions on Saturday night for any extended lenght of time.

We can however listen to some on these boards and play straight up the guts and kick it long to a contest in the forward line and have Brisbane do what they have done best for the last 4 years (zone and pick off the ball) and lose by 15 goals.

I don't like our current numbers back posession game, but sometimes you just have to stomach it to get a result and this week is that week.

I wasn't necessarily advocating a game plan change - too early for that. I was merely pointing out that we need a big lift (particularly scoreboard accuracy) to be able to match it with Brisbane.

Least they don't have Jonathan Brown - he would be hard for us to contain on a dry day.

Current game plan has a few more weeks before it REALLY comes under scrutiny.

a/ havent found any of our recent games against brisbane boring, we may keep the ball of them a bit but they do man up, dont let us just wander around the defensive fifty chipping it at a snails pace.

b/ the topic of this thread is pretty negative considering we had one loss and are still fifth, hope people around the club arent this negative about the next 4 weeks
The topic is negative! We lost!

Fifth means nothing - the ladder is meaningless at this stage. I am more worried about the fact that we couldn't beat a middle of the road team.

Now we have to face up to playing 3 of the top teams over the next four weeks.

I am not saying the season is over - just pointing out how tough the next 4 week is.

        we lost one game!!!

every week we lose is there going to be such panic??
i could understand if we had just lost our fifth in a row.....we lost and lost looking like rubbish, but the team deserves the chance to redeem themselves before they are written off.

Why are people who talked our premiership hopes up a week ago, suddenly ready to collect the wooden spoon!

I certainly wasnt talking up our premiership hopes up! I will be satisfied if we finished top 6.

And, I am not panicking - merely being a realist and looking at 3 tough games.

You never panick when you've followed the Swans since 1971 - expectations are never too high....

I agree. I think our team is lucky how we play most of the hard-wins at home so it's a benefit for us.

Our strategy is to NEGATE the opposition. This is the reason. Negating brings the team closer to a better team, it does also bring the team closer to a worse team. Negating is effective in getting the team to a midle of the road position. It however will not win premiership(s).

The Saints used to water the centre square at their Moorabbin ground for the same reasons. Even if the weather had been dry for weeks, the Moorabbin ground would still be a gluepot.
