Not too bloody handy the reserves having a bye this weekend - will stop the young 'uns in their tracks.

Couldnt come at a worse time actually if you are Schmidt, Dempster, Malceski etc.

I think Dempster is a certainty for Saturday night and about time too!!

In the res. last week in Canberra, Sadds played well, kicked a couple of goals and definately has bulked up. I remember in the last quarter of the game, he went for a big mark over an Ainslie player, kneed him in the back and the guy went down like a sack of potatoes and off he went. I don't think it will be long before Sadds is back!

You would have to wonder about Powell's future. He always seems to star in the reserves, did well again last Sat. but gets selected and then struggles in the seniors. His potential has not been realised yet, but how many chances?

        Cheers,
        Matt

Word around the traps is that Schmidt is AFL ready but the club are reluctant. Apparently they are worried about potential headlines should his debut be less than glorious.

Nah, the rumour is that the club is very nervous with the excitement Schmidt might raise with his debut. That would have a negative impact on the current game plan.

I think he's done pretty well in the 1's with the limited game-time that he has had. He certainly hasn't starred, but I reckon he has showed enough. I remember in the first game last year against Brisbane, he came on and made an impact.

Saddington is now officially listed at 93kg - apparently put on something like six kilos in the off season - hopefully not fat but muscle.

As long as it doesn't affect his mobility it should be a good thing - won't know until we see him I guess
I was certainly asking about Saddingtons build not Tarrant a 6 kilos addition is good, just that extra bit of muscle might be all he needs.
                cheers Ian

Of course he's serious. The media can make or break a youngster.

Strang that about developing young players. New coach said he was going to teach young players how to play the game.

I guess if we are not introducing new blood to the firsts then we will never know.

That's OK ROK, just leave him in the 2's to save the development coaches embarrassment. I have a better idea, why don't we just recruit recycled players from now on and sack any development coaches including the head coach to save money, because above all we are a business and it is all about money.

Heaven forbid we uncover a talented midfielder to displace that brilliant, good looking incumbent, who is the face of Sydney on the catwalk.

                                Radical thoughts.

Promote Schmidt to centre bounces - demote Bolton because he can't play anywhere else.

Ablett into centre bounces - Maxfield to captain 2's to fast track development of young players.

Net result. 2 hard bodied players who might not get blocked/feathered off the ball in a contest, and who might just get first use of the footy.

Midfield coach to be retrained as the highest paid boot studder in history, rather than paying out contract.
