Home grown true key position players

When was the last time, we got a decent one except Dunk?

I dont think we have got anyone decent in my living memory which is not very long. Does anyone want to take the bait?

How about Baz? He was originally really brought in as a FF and has now grown into a "Key Foreward" or whatever. My point is that if you wanted to, you could play him as a FF. Even a proper CHF?

    Or am I just dribbling?

Don't know that you could call Dunkley home grown. Comes from Gippsland in Vic, was on Saints list, rejected and went to Tassie. We picked him up a Forward, how I don't know because he was a horrible kick.

Someone must have a brainwave and put him down back, but for a long time he was very ordinary with the likes of Dunstall and Plugger absolutely towelling him many times. I remember watching him get a pasting at VFL on Dunstall and saying how on earth can this bloke get a game.

In my time he was the biggest turnaround of player that I can recall. He just learned how to play FB and also we got a better side that made it a bit easier for him.

Where do we get another from I don't know, it just seems to happen.

Capper, Dunkley... the next best I can come up with would be Jason Mooney.

              That really is sad.

He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Fell kicked one famous goal in the last Q against the Blues when we made a spectacular comeback from 45 points down half way throught the 3rd Q. Took a finger tipper on a fast lead 30 metres out. Early 90's I believe and could have been Buckerina's moment of glory as a coach.
