    Most Pointless Thread Ever

For fun, if some recent players were a bit younger or a bit older and played at their best for Sydney; how do you think this team would go? Is this the correct line up or is there a better one?

    B: Crouch Dunkely Nicks
    HB: Goodes Roos Barry
    C: Maxfield Kirk Williams
    HF: O'Loughlin Hall O'Keefe
    F: Schneider Lockett Davis
    OB: Ball Kelly Cresswell

Schneider sticks out like a sore thumb. Where's Schwatta?

Haha, thats cool. I am glad this thread became more pointless.

Oh, who else for the forward pocket than the 2003 Schneider?

Schwatta is a tough one. I guess I think Maxi, Kirk and Willo are probably better at any given position in the midfield. Though I have rose coloured glass on for Kirk as he is a "All-Sydney" All-Australian and I do not think we get many of those.

This is a great pointless thread!!

I would have (considering back to '97)...

                B: Crouch Dunkley C Bolton
                HB: Goodes Roos Barry
                C: Schwass Cresswell Williams
                HF: O'Loughlin Hall O'Keefe
                F: Lockett Davis Lewis
                OB: Ball Kirk Kelly
                Int: Maxfield Stafford Dyson Schauble
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

Stafford was a super ruckman from 1996-1998 - better than Ball has ever been for us.

I'd try and find a place for Wade Chapman (1996 vintage) in the team - super little nuggetty player with all the aggression and fearlessness of Bevan but more polished skills.

Since I started following the game... can't be bothered putting them into positions, but roughly:
Defence: Dunkley, Roos, Barry, Crouch, Kennelly, Schauble
Attack: Lockett, Hall, O'Loughlin, Davis, Goodes (floating through the middle from a flank), Maxfield
Midfield: Kelly, Cresswell, Schwass, Williams, Kirk, Ball
I/C: Stafford, Dyson, Nicks, J. Bolton.

Apologies: Kickett, O'Brien, Mathews, Lewis, Mathews, O'Keefe, Luff (had him in, then decided that a team couldn't have only one specialist ruckman, so in came Stafford). Chapman would have been brilliant, Liz, but injuries were a fact and his actual achievements aren't enough to get into this team.

I'd have Bayes in there - one of my all-time favourites - but my memories of when he wasn't chronically injured are just a bit too hazy.

Wasnt he the one who kicked the ball to Lockett just before the siren sounded on a balmy night in mid September?

                              Correct.

He was going to be a super player.
