Mark Robinson Q&A with Brett Kirk

    This interview is quite revealing.

    Kirk is a great communicator.

He certainly is! He will make a great teacher if he does go that way. He would also do very well in the media. He speaks well and thinks clearly.

I wonder how he would go as a coach?

To think Rocket would have been fine with never playing him again...
      - Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in a world they've been given, than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact, it's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration, it's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing!

I thought Kirk was already a qualified teacher?

I thought he was just filling in time until the right teaching job came up in Albury?

Yeah I read the Q&A in the paper today. There was a whole 2 page article on Kirk.
Vicky Pollard: Oh my god I so can't believe you just said that this is like the time I threw Anita's nokia in the canal as a joke and she's like you have well got to buy me another one and I'm like get over it and then Paul came over who's adopted anyway and started saying that I fancy Mark Bennett but oh my god just because I have sex with someone doesn't mean I fancy them.

There is always a teaching job in Albury. He must be waiting until one becomes available in a city area.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

not really fair, what had kirk actually done? half of its luck when identifying and trying players, i mean perhaps if roos played fosdike he might be a great player from now on

Spot on Motorace.I saw a lot of Kirky pre Sydney as I live in Albury. His strengths have always been he could get the footy, sensational hands, great vision and the fittest bloke in the O&M.Brett Kirk got Ben Hollands on to an AFL list as he kept giving him the footy.I also saw him go head to head with Guy Rigoni one day and he made Rigoni look average.Rigoni was drafted at the end of that year by Melbourne.Sure he always looked awkward as a kick with those little 9 iron chips but he hits his target pretty often. For some reason Rocket wanted to turn him into an opportunist half forward.I'm pretty sure Rocket never saw him when he dropped back to Port Melbourne as he picked up 40plus possessions regularly in the midfield.Congrats to Roosy for having the guts to go against his better judgement and give Kirky the chance to play on the oppositions best midfielder week in and week out.And in reply to another reply on this thread yes Kirky would make a great captain possibly at some stage this year.He did an excellent job in that role last night.
