Lions Preview

Hi from a sunny and drizzly Brisvegas. With palm trees. Good match preview - thanks for that. The wet track (though possibly no rain) may make it a more even playing field. We have played badly more than we have played well in the wet. But the Lions don't play that well in the wet either. So it may be a more level playing field. I think much will hinge on the Swans' mindset. So my sitting on the fence view from about 4km from the Gabba is that it could be a ripper - as every other Lions-Swans game has been for the past few years. Or we could get killed - and that could indicate that all the doomsayers here are right. Of course, the other option is that the Lions get slaughtered but I'm on medication to stop those types of fantasies.Comment

Brisbane absolutely smashed Essendon and looked as if they were playing in bone dry conditions.
Brisbane's game plan is more suited to the wet because it doesn't rely so much on controlling possession but rather on just moving the ball forward at all costs and then having lots of strong bodies running forward onto it and putting their bodies over the ball. They are also one of the most skilled teams in the competition, and wet weather tends to accentuate the better skilled players from the rest, so long as they don't try to be too cute.
Our recent record against the Lions and the fact that we know the Swans have a habit of lifting for the tougher games leads me to believe we're at least in with a shot of causing an upset tonight. But on a wet track I'd give us almost no chance at all.Comment

I was going to say something about our inability to go long and direct, but that's a much better summation.I wish my weed was EMO so it would cut itselfComment

I think they should delay it by about 6 hours so no one will see this rubbish!Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.
