Dempster looked good, both in the backs and further up the field. Looks like people may of been right about him!

Spriggs is in our best 18, why? Because he has clean hands. I think he is the only swan midfielder who can actually pick the ball up from the ground. But lets see him get more time.

Remember the 'law of averages' - (can't remember the two who had that argument last year) - but Aker was bound to play a great game on Crouchy eventually.

Was really impressed with Dempster's balance. Kept his feet when Voss went to ground to rush the behind. Also took a leaf out of Tadgh's book and ran with the ball breaking the line. Very impressionable.

He looked very promising. I love the confidence he showed in carrying the ball and breaking the lines through half back! Looks like he can hold down a small/medium forward which may allow Kennelly to play up the field.

I don't think he's only a small/medium defender. He already looks so much bigger than the scrawny kids we've debuted over the past couple of years. He could be a KPP a year or two down the track. Put him at CHB... how's Barry-Dempster-Kennelly for a running half-back line?

189, 79 is nowhere near big enough to be a KPP.

I'm just glad that Dempster has finally been unveiled, the confidence he seemed to have was just awesome, real prospect

It's certainly a lot easier to believe, looking at him, that he weighs 85kg than it is to believe that he weighs 79kg.

I said this the moment I saw him play a reserves game...

                      Dempster is a GUN

Confidence he showed out there last night was simply OUTSTANDING.

Its fairly rare you see a young player step up in the first match and not look at all out of place. He has the size, the height and the ability.

The type of player he is, he can probably be used anywhere over the field. Strong boy, great kick and mark.
Could probably play anywhere on the ground other than ruck!

He could really add another dimension to our backline, allowing Leo Barry to pick up the first or second forward (until Schuable returns) and allowing Kennelly and Dempster to run off half back.

I am probably getting a little ahead of myself (and him) ... but he certainly did not look AT ALL out of place.

If O'Loughlin was to come back into the side, the only player I can see being dropped would be Spriggs...

Can't criticise him for that - a woeful decision by any standards (execept for Malcolm Blight's apparently).

Harsh - but true. He doesn't look anywhere near fit enough. Outplayed by Aka (for once) but thankfully had the last laugh. Maybe can have a rest for a few weeks now?

Spriggs had what, 40 minutes? And gathered 10 possesions, sure he doesn't have great disposal with his feet but he showed clean hands.

Bevan should be dropped before Spriggs.

Nah, the captain should make way.

As usual, the AFL/Swans site is different. You wouldn't think it would be that hard to at least get their height right.

At 192 he's much closer to the right height, although would still need to add about 5-10 kg.
