After being at the gabba I just had the pleasure of watching the game on video. It still looked to me like a tough game rather than a poor one. But I was taken by how much more Maxfield contributed to the Swans win than his counterpart, Michael Voss contributed to the Lions. As all of us here on RWO are scrupulously fair and only ever judge a player on his last performance, I guess Voss is another tired old hack who should retire mid season?
Maxfield > Voss?

Two weeks earlier Voss has 29 possessions and 6 clearances, so at least he had some form at some stage this year...Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

Voss has the same problem as Mick, difference is Mick has two crook knees while Voss has only one. But Dave's's point is that Vossy had a poor game (eg beaten in at a desperate contest in crunch tine by Dempster) while Stewie had his best game for the year. You are only as good as your last game.
Voss is a legend, a star. but that star is fading. Stewie is fading too.
All I ask is that Stewie hang on and contribute this year. Nothing worse than have to retire mid season like Schwass had to.Pay peanuts get monkeysComment

I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say that Maxfield's star was never as bright as Voss' and that it is fading at an exponential rate compared to his Brisbane counterpart.Originally posted by Old Royboy

That was my first thought too...Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.
