    Nicks the forward

A lot of people don't like Nicks as a forwad but look at the facts this year.
Hall has had 14 shots at goal for 9 goals.
Nicks has had 11 shots at goal for 5 goals.
While I think Nicks has missed goals he should have kicked he is not the only one and is at least getting the ball on the forward line to have a go at the goals.
The next highest to nicks with 11 shots on goal is davis with 7 shots followed by Goodes and Schneider with 6 shots on goal each.
Schneider has done very well to be equell 4th highest shots on goal for the year so far with a 50/50 strike rate and Goodes with 6 shots on goal when playing in the ruck is good but his 1 goal 5 behinds including some easy goals missed isn't too good.

My point is that apart from Hall (who hasn't had a good year so far ) Nicks is providing an option on the forward line more then any other player and if his goals ratio goes up he is a good player to have there in my opinion.

He sure is kicking them but the question has to be answered is this the best place to have him?? I would like to see him used back in his HBF position, but also floating down forward to kick a few goals. He is wasted up forward when he could be helping down back.

You can talk about how good Nicks is going. But if you take him out of the forward line, that will give Davis, Schneider and Stevens more opportunities.

So I really do not believe that we would miss his presence down there. In fact I think we could benefit from it!!

Dont forget O'loughlin masey, re nicks : we definately dont need him down there, good as a back up, but I would like to see him play like the good old days running half back and get warfe or someone the hell out of there.

I think a few years ago he was the best running defender in the league. The he started playing on the wing and finally then as a forward. If he went back he might be very good for us and then if need be we know we have another option for the forward line.
