Would love to see Kennelly go against him one on one on the wing but it will probably be Ablett who will be given the task to mind him and get a little of the ball, something which he has been very good at so far this year on Wells, Lappin & Goodwin.

I'd swap Mathews with LRT, LRT can lead Roberston away from the ball.

        Neitz - Barry
        Yze - Dempster
        Davey - Crouch
        Robertson - Kennelly
        Miller - Bolton
        Sylvia - Mathews
Holland - LRT (or in the ruck)

Dempster might be a good match up for Yze as he can compete in the air. Hopefully he runs off Yze a lot too making him accountable.

Kennelly might be a worry against Robertson as he's not great in the air for a tall guy but that's Robertson's strength. Again, I think it will be important to run off him - his defence isn't good.

Midfield matchups are a bit more interesting, there are a lot of permutations. Kirk probably would have tagged Bruce, I'm not sure who he'll be on now (if anyone). Ablett might continue his run-with role against Green.

Goodes on White PLEEEEASSE. Neitz is a serious worry. I guess we will double team him. Barry to play behind and maybe Dempster loose??

Goodes on White makes most sense, particularly as White is a leaper also.

I think Brad Green is a great player, but I'm not sure if it is necessary or worthwhile to tag him all game.

Melbourne's midfield is reasonably even, so I wonder whether it would be better to focus on man-to-man footy and trying to attack as much as possible, rather than relying on defensive tagging.

Melbourne is a pretty attacking team and I think too much tagging will not work.

One option in the backline is to bring in LRT or someone else of a decent size just play loose man across half back and block space for Neitz to run into. Essentially we would play with a 7 man backline and 5 man forward line.

Eventually Melbourne might cover the loose man (0r they might not) but may not do so for enough time for us to gain an advantage.

Whoever Bizzell plays on should be played through as often as possible.
He is a zone defender who will help out on Hall and provide some run and distribution out of the backline.
If O'keefe or Goodes can take him up the field and Mick leading away from the goalsquare Hall should be one out regularly.
If Jolly and Goodes rest in the forward line we might cause them some headaches if we can get the ball down to them.(I know.It is our big problem).
I think Hall is more important to us as a goalscorer than Neitz is to them. They have more options in Yze,Davey,Green,Robertson so I would prefer we didn't have a loose man in defence as it would mean they would double Barry as teams have been doing.
We desperateley need Barry one out.

Another Demon to look out for Motlop to play

Motlop will play in an on-ball role, on the wing, or at half-forward on the smaller SCG.

I was very happy with his last appearance on the SCG, in a Kangaroos jumper.

I saw Melbourne last Sunday and they have a very strong midfield who cover a lot of territory. We are going to miss Willow badly as he does the in and under stuff.

Been a bit of harping about the White vs Goodes matchup here, but I'm more looking forward to the battle of the second rucks, Jamar vs Jolly!

Late last year we (the Dees) saw Jolly out of favour to Jamar, which is why he ended up asking to be traded. Most of us are itching to see who is where at the moment.

                          Can't wait till Saturday night!

Goodes will play CHB and LRT will ruck. One of Roosey's core promises is to never use Goodes in centre bounce ruck. Will it end up as a non core promise as did the development of youth.

That promise was before the new ruck rules and this week against Jeff White who is not a bash and crash ruckman would be the perfect time to run him around as a ruckman again.

If LRT has hamstring soreness then the ruck is not thebest place for him to be spending any time this week.

As for our youth policy the club has stuck to drafting kids in the last couple of drafts and they will be given a chance to debue in the seniors when their form is good enough not because of any stated youth policy we might have.
