    "Captain Kirk" a reality

It has been announced that Brett Kirk will be captaining this weekend against the Dees. lets hope he can inspire some hard work out of our midfield. My only worry is that as a defensive midfield or tagger role, he may not provide the direction we are lacking in attack. As much as Stu is out of form, he does try and get it forward..
    see Sydney swans website

Kirk is the second leading posession getter this year for the Swans behind Jude Bolton. He is hardly a tagger these days.

I think Kirk is just about the most effective guy in our team at getting the ball moving in the direction of our goals.
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

        Captain Kirk -- excellent news.

Did anyone notice that he also took the coin toss at the Brisbane game? I wondered then if that was because of his 100th, or maybe a sign of things to come?
To all those people who waited 72 years to see a South Melbourne/Sydney Swans premiership HERE IT IS!!

his 100th I think. I guess Magic couldn't do it last weekend as it'd take too long for him to get down into position. . .

Ahh but Magic didn't go into the centre for the coin toss....and lost it.

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

Not that kind of guy I reckon. He'd be blown away by getting the captaincy, but for the same reason would not be surprised if he missed out. It was still only three years ago that people would laugh if you mentioned that he may be captain material.

In one article I read he said that he was surprised that people rated him as a potential Captian. Maybe he was just being modest!!

Perhaps he feels that he's not ready yet to take that extra step.

But I think that Kirk will do well, and I hope that we will have something to celebrate after a great win tomorrow night.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................
