Team Selection - must be under 4ft to apply?

What is with the Swans selection this week if we lose 1 tall to injury and with the Swans this means anyone over 4ft6 we are in big trouble!

Where is the flexibility with this team selection? 4 midgets as interchange who all basically play similar roles?

Why not give Powell a run? at least to give the team some variation/flexibility?

Looks like we are at least 1 tall short....

Sorry I must be missing something but I reckon this is the weakest most unbalanced team we will put on the track for the last 2 years.

Please throw this in my face if we win and I'll gladly eat large portions of humble pie.

    Cheers

    LOL @ 4'6" !!

Where is Powell - I was just wondering yesterday what has become of him - we could use a decent sized player.

Problem is, I wonder that every time I watch the reserves play. Admittedly I only saw the final term last week but I don't actually recall seeing him out there. Certainly he didn't do anything that caught my eye. Maybe he was resting on the bench for the final quarter having run himself ragged earlier in the game. Or maybe not.

The "problem" with Willo's injury is that the out-time is not long enough to promote a rookie, meaning Campbell, Grundy or Vogels aren't options. And James is injured - again.

In fairness he is still an Emergency, so he must be doing ok.

Frankly I think you still need to pick your best team, even if position wise it seems a bit short.

LRT is back in to fill the Ball void, and Goodes is still a superb ATG ruck. I have fingers crossed that a sudden influx of injuries to key players now will mean a clean run into the finals.... well you have to have hope

What is even more staggering is that with our nominated rookie they have chosen Earl Shaw instead of one of these other rookies that actually have bodies that are ready for senior action.

Are you sure about that, I have not heard anything about Earl Shaw being the nominated rookie?

I saw the last quarter of the reserves as well and Powell was getting a few touches.

Of course there was no opposition but he looked big and seemed to be playing direct.

If you're basing that info on another thread in this forum, its already been pointed out that its untrue.

Powell looked ok in the preseason. He seems to be a confidence player. After he makes a few mistakes his game falls apart. Probably by next year he will be making his presence felt in the backline.

Now I'm confused, coz I thought I had read it on the Swans website a few weeks ago, but now I cant find it. So now I think I got it mixed up with the article that was in the SMH a week or so ago about him. I dunno, but I must say it did seem odd that they would nominate him at the time.

I saw him at Manuka attempt a loooong torp after the siren. Dead straight and almost made the distance too. Would have landed at the goal umps feet if not knocked away first.
