Yeah, the WA Sydney Supporter group will be meeting there before the game....I think there's gonna be a door prize & a raffle on. And there'll be a stall set up with Swans gear you can buy.

Believe you/me, we have over 300 club members in WA which is as astonishing as it is impressive. They are MEGA hard-core. It is great supporting our club with such passionate committed people as these guys. Several people in Sydney could learn how it is done from our Swans supporters based in Perth.

Here is proof of what I mean.

(Hard to believe we have 5 times as many supporters with us in the Cheer Squad in Perth as in Brisbane!)

i won't have wheels, so if anyone can pick the things up and take em to the Irish club and then the game, it would be mega mega appreciated.

PM if you CAN help re picking up the stuff at either the airport or from where I am staying in Cannington (where that is in relation to everything, I'm not 100% sure.)

Unfortunantly JF you are on the other side of the river from me. Otherwise I would have gladly helped you load the Hilux up and transported the flags.

What time before the game? When do the cheer squad arrive at Irish before thegame? What time do they leave?
              Wouldn't mind saying hello.
Given that the players aren't going back afterwards there's not a great incentive for staying. Have some Eagles friends who are talking about going out for a bite after the game. They're not keen to hang around IC esp. if players not turning up

Silent Lurker and I went to their home ground yesterday. Beautiful old ground with a grandstand resembling that at North Sydney Oval. Also awesome undercover terracing behind the goals. My eyes lit up when I saw them, you could make a racket under there.

Wanted to go to Claremont vs Swan Districts today, but with lugging stuff around I just will not be able to fit things in.

I like South Freo http://www.sffc.asn.au/ out of all the WAFL clubs I think. But I just can't bond with a team called the Bulldogs. (But hey, you could quite happily bring Lebanese national flags to matches, given the club colours. )

Spent $80+ at the AFL Store in the massive Carousel Shopping Centre. Just went on a binge. Even bought a Swans bottle opener that plays the club song. Like why would I even want to buy something as naff as that?!

The team flew back on the 10am flight Sunday morning which makes the "travel arrangements" excuse seem rather feeble.

Fair enough, point taken they can forget my money and those of my kids and I will purchase my gear from the Afl shop instead of the catalouge. If u dont want us as surpporters and havent got 15mins spare after a game why take my money? and I urge those other WA surpporters who buy season memberships and merchandise from the club to do the same.

                              thats totally fukd up

they come here once and they snub the supporters. just typical of how things are travelling at the minute.

i really feel for the WA supporters club hierachy who have put in so much effort over the past few years to make the irish club a really good environment for the swannies fans.

even when we lost both games last year the place was buzzing and it was great - except for crouchy being a sooky lala and the ultimate snob

and i totally agree about buying swans merchandise elsewhere,
this club is doing my head in

                              but i'll still support em............

I spoke to the chick at the AFL store at Carousel in Cannington on Saturday. She was rather bemused that I was prancing around the store like Capper at a speed dealer's house. I told her that I had NEVER steped foot into an AFL store before. Even she was quite taken aback! And asked if there was a Swans club store than I could go into and buy things. I said, "no they got rid of that a couple of seasons ago for some reason".

Some of the utter crap I brought across the Nullabor simply defies belief. A new Swans coffee mug, well so far so good. A new Swans ballpoint pen, still ok. a Swans mouse pad, great, but I actually don't use a mouse pad at the moment. Then things derailed pretty fast. A Swans bottle opener that plays the club song. Oh dear! A velcro Swans wallet, hmm very Kmart don't you think. A baby Swans beanie teddy; how old am I am?

I have been going to the Sydney Aussie Rules Warehouse in Kings Cross for years. Not only do they still stock lots of older Sekem and Vivid stuff, they already know me, are more than helpful, but have heaps of the latest stuff in at pretty decent old prices. As far as I know they are actually cheaper than the stores at the ground, the only remnants of the old Swans Shop up in the SFS carpark.

I applaud the club for at least making an attempt to provide supporters with a better merchandising and apparal range. This year's catalogue is a great improvement on that of last year. But when I cannot go anywhere other than on match day when I'm doing 1000 different things at once to buy any of this stuff, it is nigh impossible to just pop in and go on a binge. When the sames scarves I saw at Rebel in Perth for $18 cost a whopping $28 through the club, well what point is there is buying from them?

We can only hope that they will have a Swans shop put in permanantly as a part of the Sydney Aussie Rules Social Club, just like you see the supporter stores at places like Parra or Easts Leagues. Or even the Freo Dockers, whose offices I visited on Friday to buy a $2 blow-up anchor.
