    Captain Kirk

What did everyone think of Kirk's Captaincy? I was very impressed. He led the way in terms of committment and courage. Didn't use the ball overly effectively though. I've thought for a number of years he should be our next captain, especially now he's established himself as a high-possesion winning midfielder and not just a nullifying tagger type player.

Yes Vivien - he did himself proud - tried his guts out.

    BUT,

Jude Bolton looks to be our Captain post Stewie to me.

I must say Jude Bolton absolutely busted his gut tonight. His start to the season so far this year would probably see him leading the B&F at present I would think.

Another contender would also be Barry Hall. I know that sounds strange after tonights game but it was one of the nights where Barry wouls normally do something very rash due to frustration. Despite that he had no brian implosions and showed that he has matured as a player.

Can't fault Kirk on his effort tonight, nor Jude for that matter.

More than who is our next captain, the thing that stood out for me was that our current captain probably wouldn't have made much difference tonight.

        I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

is it a good thing that the leadership factor wasnt weak even though the captain was missing?

I mean its good that Kirk did a good job. And that even if the captain is missing, the swans have a go to gofer in the ranks

But the fact they didnt miss Maxfield in respect to captaincy, shows how replacable he is in reguards to leadership.

I guess its a foot in the right direction...looking to the future

Yep, I was very impressed with Bolton's work ethic too.
