Thanks for that report Old Royboy - very informative.

Grundy looked like he could make position in the Wiz Cup - maybe he can kick on.

Vogels is another I think might make it.

Moore will make it - may as well start playing him now IMHO.

My thoughts exactly. Grundy, Vogels and Moore should be playing as soon as possible in order to develop them. Grundy and Vogels have height which we need desperately and they can already play - they don't need to learn the game. Why is Sydney so against playing new, young players? I am sure most fans would be delighted to see them play even if we lose as we are losing anyway and it doesn't look like there is room for much improvement.

But, as has already been pointed out, the club can't play Grundy and Vogels at the moment (subject to clearing up whether anyone was ever nominated as the rookie that can play).

Vogels got 3 votes and Schmidt 2 votes for the game. The other vote went to Roulstone of Eastlake.

I thought the top-up players played quite well. Especially I think it was 53 can't remember his name. There was a post earlier that mentioned that the 'trailing' defender was Quade. A pretty ordinary post considering that was the only time he was beaten, and that was from a very good pass. If you watch the game a little more closely you will notice that many players in the Sydney reserves backline make very good position but are rarely utilised. Another pleasing aspect of the game was the kick ins from points, almost always hit a target outside 50, maybe the seniors could learn from this??

                  Top Ups:

                  50 Goodrem
                  51 Ryan
                  52 Addison
                  53 Shackleton

Shackleton looks too young to be anything other than a local top up. He assisted in Josh Willoughby's goal.

My understanding is that the top-ups are always local U18's.

Goodrem is (as most already know) Delta's brother.

                      The top up players were:

                      Trent Goodrem
                      David Ryan
                      Dylan Addison
                      Michael Stapleton

All played for NSW/ACT in the U/18 championships last year.
