For me the best play of the night was Davis kicking out of defence to a leading Kennelly in the middle of the ground. Tadhg blew the mark, but 9 times out of 10 he would have taken it. It would be great to have a marking target on the wing.

I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time -
It's not just Schauble understanding when he can push forward, it's also his talk in the backline - he reads the play a lot better and will call teammates across when he thinks it necessary, giving us a much more composed look in defence and the appearance of a team of 6 or 7 defenders rather than 6 or 7 defenders working inidividually.Originally posted by stellation
I do gush over Schauble, but when he is back just watch him pick when to run forward. He is one of the slower guys in the team and it is not strange to see him taking a mark on the wing to help get the ball out of defence despite playing FB. The more our younger backmen play with Schauble the better for their development.

Totally agree. It is great to see him barking out orders in the backline and everyone doing what they are told. He talks to them the whole game and they talk back/to each other. You can sure as hell bet that McVeigh would have had at least one guy telling him he was hot if Schauble was playing on Saturday, probably more because he gets down there and starts them talking to each other.Originally posted by Mike_B

Neil Cordy was at training today and said Kennelly was being mentioned as a midfielder this week.Comment

Not a bad option really. It will hopefully free him up to get his hands on the ball in a more offensive capacity.
