My criticisms:

- playing JBolton in a forward pocket. He's been our best midfielder and works best close in. So why play him as far away from the action as possible?

- Hall is not a proven ruckman. He's very good at tapwork but there's more to rucking than just tapwork. We'll miss him in the forward line as well.

- Ericksen at FF. He's played his reserve games in the ruck, so lets chuck him in the forward line. Probably not physically ready anyway.

The rest of your ideas were plausible but you lost me straight away with putting Hall in the ruck and Ericksen at FF.

When has Hall ever proved he is a ruckman?

He occasionally takes the ruck contest from a throw in inside the F50. I doubt he has been in the centre square for a ruck contest very many times, if ever.

I think you need at least one tall to come into the side so you might as well pick the tallest on our list if he's fit and thats Ericksen 205cm tall.
Don't know whether he's any good though we're gunna struggle without another tall.
The thought of starting BBBH in the centre would be a huge gamble though he could play some time there (he was pretty ordinary last week) as we have ample forward power Goodes, O'Loughlin,
O Keefe, Schneider & Buchanan and
Maybe a roll for Davis as an outside midfielder to use his kicking skill to get the ball into the forward line could work. Also using C Bolton or Kennelly further up field, that seemed to work pretty well in the final last yearl.
