    Saddo's return imminent

    Saddo's return imminent
"Hopefully maybe our next home game against Essendon, I'd like to be back in there, if not, I definitely want to be back the week after that," Saddington told afl.com.au.
With his observations from the sidelines, Saddington has been able to identify areas where the Swans have been letting themselves down in the recent weeks - and in his opinion, decision-making has been the downfall.
"We generally don't seem to be playing too badly, I think it's just our decision making at times, our options that we take out on the ground sometimes are just a bit wrong, and I think if we can rectify that problem and get that right, then we should get a bit closer to winning more games."
This will make some poeple happy and some people not I guess.

But, it will be good to see him back and hopefully make a difference to the team!

Tragic state of affairs when the return of Saddo is seen as the return of the messiah

Don't think it makes any reference to him being a "messiah" of any kind. Just that he is available for selection, and when he might be selected, and he has made observations from the sideline.

He's not the Messiah; he's just a very naughty boy.

And our skill errors and our poor kicking at goals and our loose checking of opposition...

Yeah, but besides that what have the Romans... I mean, we're not playing too badly...

Easy...simply making the point that there would have been a time when the return of Saddo was the cause for derision not delight

Not really, I'm always happy to see him in the team.

If nothing else though, Saddo does have some of the better skills in the team and the way things are at the moment, would we be any worse off with him in the team?

It's often said that you don't know what you are missing until it finally does go missing.

I for one will welcome back Saddo with open arms.

He might not be the answer we are looking for at CHB but he provides us with flexibity to be the third tall defender or forward and can even be used as a winger if needed.

With Powell still not showing much, he is required now and into the future.

Funny thing is Whitefox you are on the money there as well.

He will never be a Ball, Judd, Hayes, Hodge etc but he is nowhere near as bad as people seem to suggest on this site.

I would be interested to know who the other top 10 picks were that year to see how he stacks up against them?

                            1. Brisbane Lions - Des Headland (Subiaco)
                            2. Fremantle - Justin Longmuir (West Perth)
                            3. Sydney - Nic Fosdike (Norwood)
                            4. Sydney - Ryan Fitzgerald (South Adelaide)
                            5. Port Adelaide - Michael Stevens (Murray U18)
                            6. Carlton - Murray Vance (Murray U18)
                            7. Port Adelaide - Josh Carr (East Fremantle)
                            8. Sydney - Jude Bolton (Calder U18)
                            9. Essendon - Mark McVeigh (NSW/ACT U18)
                            10. West Coast Eagles - Brandon Hill (Peel Thunder)

                            1. doing okay, lots of competition in the Freo midfield.
                            2. Handy ruckman/forward.
                            3. Probably just outside the best 22.
                            4. better known for outside football interests
                            5. Never really settled at Port, now with the Roos.
                            6. Who?
                            7. Arguably the pick of the top 10.
                            8. Sydney regular.
                            9. Essendon regular.
                            10. At least I vaguely recall the name Murray Vance.

Well by the looks of that, Fosdike at least holds his own. Josh Carr would look to be a miss, but he ended up going back home anyway so we would have lost out there.

McVeigh would have been handy in the side (he does have great skills) but he is not alot ahead of where Fosdike is in his career.

Also, gee we were unlucky with Ryan Fitzgerald. Had all the talent and temprement to play 200 great games but for his fragile body.
