    Clean out time

The current list still reeks of the old regime's mind set.
We can not produce a premeirship team until this is eradicated.
So ok Charlie and all those sentimentals , Is it OK if we start the process of getting rid of Mcpherson and all the other dead wood now ?? I really think it's about time . Don't you ?

Yep. Time to throw the kids to the wolves.
McVeigh, Dempster, Maceleski, Thewlis, Schneider, etc should play every game that they're fit to do so.

Dead wood!?!?! What about the younger guys - they're hardly showing very much.

The kids arn't performing you say ?? Well they havn't had the time that has been so lavishly spent on some of our, very dissapointing mid level players. Of course we will go backwards or sidways in the short term by playing the kids but we must, I repeat must start dropping these middle order dead wood players who have been playing for over 3 years and who have not performed. Other wise we won't ever develope the mind set of a truley greate winng team. Wooooosh ..... ! Can you hear it ? thats the sound of a broom.

          Schauble is way too slow.

Terrible core of players..McPherson should be dropped asap.

But what else is there to say except we have a below average list.

Oh Nick Davis is too soft.

1st up for me Ben Mathews.

The day he drills a ball into someones chest, I'll pass out from disbelief.

I was actually referring to our mid-level players. However, as they make up the bulk of our team I don't think we could actually drop them all.

Wev'e only got about 4 or 5 who are absolute certs, everyone else should be right under the pump. This rebuild if it is done right has to be much deeper than anyone on this board seems to be calling for. But if it don't happen now then get used to another 10 years of frustration, cos thats what you will get !!

What a classic - second Hawthorn goal. J Bolton handballs to Matthews under pressure, who coughs it up, Hawthorn kicks easy goal and are back in it. How typical!!

Players to be delisted/traded at end of year:

Warfe - had your chances, too injury prone

                      Mcpherson - Had enough chances

Matthews - (unless he learns to kick)

Saddington - if there is a good deal (I am quite happy to keep him of course, but if something shuld happen then id only trade if we got a round 1 draft pick or something of the sought)

Stevens - Has had little game time, but when out there, he shows little (I know i will be persecuted for this)

Nicks - (Look at Saddo, except id except a 3rd round pick)

Players who need to step up/take the next step:

                      Stevens
                      Ablett
                      Saddington
                      Fosdike
                      Davis
                      O'Keefe
                      Kennelly

It may be harsh, but if thats whats needed to gain a premiership, then so be it!

My judgement is reserved on J Bolton atm. Seems to have taken that 'next step' but he will have to show he has what it takes, consistently.

How lazy does Nick Davis look. Has the "i am gifted therefore shall not try hard" attitude.

I understand how magpie fans used to be frustated by him.

I'm saying thats what needs to happen, or else a new regime does not take effect. Maybe not all at once but at least 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 , to begine with.
That is the first thing that happens after a coup. The old guard is despensed with. These guys whov'e been with the club for three years or more and arrn't performing up to scratch have had their shot. it's in with the new and then on with the same process again next year, and again after that and if were really lucky 2006 we might have somthing.
Other wise we wait for a new coach and administration and they won't want to go , so in that case I would say .. oh about 2015 and even then it wont be a definate. It hurts the swans more not to make the hard decisions now.
It is a case of the old adage : "We must be cruel to be kind".
