    it's gotten to the stage where i can't even WATCH when ben mathews touches the ball (hence i may miss half a passage of play at a time because they keep giving the bloody thing back to him!).

    And mcpherson... errrrrr.....

    Schneider looks the goods so far. did anyone notice the "don't expect to see him back in the match" comment, followed about 5 mins later by him zipping around on the field?

    I wasn't expecting a win tonight so i wasn't especially disappointed, especially once rawlings and everitt got into it - we had no one to counter BOTH of them and it showed. We weren't expecting a mammoth season so i'm not entirely certain why everyone is ranting about how crap we are - doesn't crap season usually amount to a combination of crap players - something we knew to begin with? We can't be the only ones seeing it so the changes will start coming soon enough. it's only round 4 after all.

        I think the problem lies with the administration. There is so much pressure on them to perform they have become terrified of failer. If they don't call for deep cuts to the team now they will loose a lot more than just games. They will loose supporters, sponsorship.. the confidance of the sydney public as a whole,the whole kit and kaboodle.
        The only way out is to build a really greate team, and to start to do that right now !

          Ditto. EVERY BLODDY TIME he gets the pill he puts is hand out and stops running as if to say:
          "whoa! slow down boys i've got it now. Watch me kick a nice high ball that will drop tantalisingly short of it's mark, and in the process allow the opposition player to mark/ spoil it!"

          There's nowhere to hide anymore Benny boy!

            I would disagree somewhat. Roos has consistently been saying that we will probably have to go through a bit of pain over the next couple of years and not to raise our hopes too high.

            This removes a lot of that pressure imo, SO LET THE CULLING BEGIN!

            If this team was a plant in my garden by now it would be pruned to the trunk!

                Where are our key position players going to come from ? we need chf chb fb ruckman. All wev've got is bazz at FF , and our midfeild is probabley the worst in the comp.

                  I agree. Its still early days in the season but his first four games have been very good imo.

                  If the club is serious about re-building, then I say go for it.

                  Warfe=Goner.
                  Cressa=Retired (but we knew that).
                  Ball=Retired.
                  Matthews=Goner.
                  Magic=Trade-bait.
                  Saddo=Trade-bait.
                  Seymour=Retired.
                  Nicks=Goner/Trade-bait.
                  Ablett=Goner (or show us what you've got).
                  Mcpherson=Goner.
                  Buchanan=Goner (although he hasn't played yet this year).

                  Of course, there are plenty of bums on our list that haven't been mentioned here, and everyone has the right to argue on the behalf of players, and some of these guys may actually come around.

                  I also think its time to look at various off-field positions too;

                  Ricky Barham=Goner.
                  Nathan Gibbs=Goner.
                  Whoever our skills coaches are=Goners.

                  We're in for a couple of lousy seasons.

                    Just on the skills coach, I havn't watched a Roos coaching session yet, maybe somone who has can enlighten me, but I watched mick multhouse work with the pies the other day. The way he works one on one with his midfeilders and forwards, you would have to say he is the skills coach. Is this normal. should it be more like this at the swans or is it perhapes already so ??

                      I'm with you Jimmy C except I think Buchanan needs another chance.

                      Add J. Bolton - goner (no value as trade bait)

                        How about we trade our 38 man squad to Brisbane for Michael Voss and then work from there. Gee its going to be a while before we play in September again. Are biggest worry is the midfield after Willo who do we really have????
                        Once was, now elsewhere

                              The problem of our inept midfield should be addressed now. With Willo taking a hammering each week, his playing time is being diminished. We should be planning for the future now, just as we should have been planning for dunks' retirement a year or two ago, when Mal Michael, Pavlich and Simon Prestag...Prestigia...Presta....that collingwood guy were out of contract...
                              When we traded the Goose for the duck (another great trade...LOL), we should have been on the search for a good ruckman to replace Stafford. We are being killed in the centre and at stoppages. Last night Hawthorn played the boundary line where they knew their rucks would give them first use of the ball. Goodes is good round the ground, but he's NOT a ruckman; Schauble is not a bad backman but he's NOT a full back; saddo could be a good player but he's NOT a centre half back. In fact we have only one key position player at present - BBBH.
                              What beggers belief is how this situation has been allowed to develop...
                              "Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."
