    Another pathetic effort!!

Jeez, that was hopeless yet again! This is really going to be a long season.

This is such a frustrating team to watch, and has nothing to do with the 'youth' policy. Plenty of mistakes are being made by the mid-level players.

HOW MANY @@@@IN' TIMES DO THEY HAVE TO HAVE THREE OR FOUR PLAYERS LEAPING FOR CONTESTS AND THEN NO ONE SCOUTING!!! This really annoys me and yet it happens all the time.

The players seem to have no vision on the field. They kick and handball to players under pressure all the time and often struggle to get the game going when the opposition bottle it up.

{sigh} too many negatives, too few positives.

Oh yeah, and how much did the commentators give you the sh*its!!

I say we play for the spoon this year and just build our list with tall strong defenders and some zippy young midfielders.

Mathew Nicks should be dropped this weekend. He is hopless. Barry Hall cant take a contested mark..slow across the ground and Saddington is def not a KP player.

C Bolton was carved up tonight.

Ablett just does not cut the mustard..

The list goes on and on...

So who is good? Well, Goodes to start with (finally!!).

Williams definitely is, but goddamn he needs help. He is being battered around something shocking as he gets little assistance in the midfield. This will cut his playing career short by a season I reckon.

Hall could be good, but needs better delivery and needs to mark better overhead.

A few others can be quite useful.

A few more can be reasonable support players.

The rest... well... less said the better...

I thought the Fremantle commentary was biased but it was nothing compared to that love fest.

If, as I understood, the match wasn't even being broadcast into Melb. then why put on such a pro Hawks couple of fools for we Sydneysiders?

Even when we actually did do some good play there was @@@@ all positive talk for us.

I was especially mystified by the comment that it was a "vitally important game for both teams, even more so for the hawks"
How in the @@@@ does that work if we're both in the same situation? Stupid Pr##ks.

Russell Greene puts Eddie to shame when it comes to biased commentary. If anyone from Fox Footy is reading this, he should NEVER AGAIN be assigned to commentate on a Hawthorn game.

As for our performance, it was the little mistakes that cost us big time. Missed shots at goal, fumbles, poor skills/decisions etc. Even worse for me when we were going 3 up and none down, was when we were going up and spoiling our own players in a marking contest when there was no opposition player contesting. WHERE IS THE TALK?????????????

            I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

Time for the coach to get harsh, eh? I only had the benefit of looking at the stats report after the game (I actually thought that watching "Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets" would provide me with more hope for the club's future) and it sure looked like they carved us up everywhere. Except for the handballing, of course-113 to 78. Our short game sucks big-time.

Yeah, I reckon I should have watched Harry Potter again!! In stats we were destroying them in the first half of the first quarter, but after that they gradually wore us down and took us apart in the final quarter. Was reminiscent of the finals game against them the other year, when we had a chance to bury them but failed. Again it was Dixon kicking their first goal from a tough angle, while we missed easy chances.

Also, we were hopeless with our short game again, which is such a mistake when the ball is greasy. Greene commented on it a few times during the commentary (the few times he actually mentioned the Swans). Again it goes towards our lack of vision around the ground, which I commented on elsewhere.

Yep , we must be the best - or worst - in the league at spoiling our own players' marking attempts.
I can see it - you can all see it - and as he watched them under Eade , Ross should see it too - and fix it.

Did Craig Bolton get a one-way ticket from Brisbane, or a return ?
                  Easily our worst player today.
Ok Magic was poor but he has an excuse and he laid on two great tackles.

I hope you are kidding about Craig bolton and a return ticket, he has 3 good games and 1 bad game, but you are right, tonights was a shocker ! His direct opponent was rawlings, and he was the difference tonight along with spider up forward for the hawks.

Craig Bolton was undersized tonight. The guy was played as a marking defender when he plays best as a running sort of defender. He needs help more than anything. I'm glad we have him.

Amazing how quickly some people can switch bandwagons. After three rounds Bolton was a hero - now he's suddenly a villain? Sigh.

Goodes looks to have really picked up this season, though we're still weak in the ruck. Kennelly and Bolton are coming along well, but Davis has been very unimpressive. That one-handed marking attempt was disgraceful. As they said on the radio, it's not like you'd ever see anybody else in the #3 jumper for Sydney doing something like that... Complain all you like about McPherson - at least he puts in some effort.

Stevens and Ablett will hopefully make way for Fixter, Seymour or McVeigh next week, but it's hard to see the side improving too much. We've been lucky enough to face Adelaide without Carey and Burns and Hawthorn without Thompson and Holland, so it'll be interesting to see what happens when we take on a side that can *really* expose our defence...

I hope you meant jumper #2.

Stevens is a let down - doont know if thats got to do with limited ground time..but when he has been on he has been a dud.

Ablett is just woeful..hasnt done anything really.

This team has no confidence, skill or GUTS....SAME old SAME old...good teams fight to the end, great teams OVERCOME.
I'm seeing us slide even more and faster than I thought we would. and am faster coming to the conclusion that we have to drop the dud middle-tier players and go straight for the LRTs, McVeighs etc. Hawthorn had 8 under 21s I think...we should follow suit. Micky should never have played...he's underdone, but in Sydney what do u do? Play him in the ACTAFL to get match fitness? I think not.
Not having a proper ruck option or key position (CHB and FB) players is something we should have addressed already, for instance the FB position a year or two ago when Dunks was coming to the end of his career. Schauble is no full back, and Saddo is no CHB.
Sheesh...the selection panel needs to pencil in Hall, Willo, Stewie, Goodes, and look seriously at issuing the others with some Canberra bus passes...
"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."
